They have picked yet another letter out of the greek alphabet and created their same old story around it. That's it. I see nothing more than this.
The virus continues to evolve. This is what viruses do. This one represents a particularly mutated strain. Okay. So what?
There is no evidence of particular lethality or morbidity, and viral evolutionary theory suggests it will be more mild than those before it.
In real news, the areas that are fastest becoming authoritarian hellholes (here's looking at you, Europe!) are the areas with the worst development of the disease. It sure looks like that in the media anyway. The places where people have decided to continue life without the obsession are doing better. At the very least, there is zero benefit to the controls; at the worst, putting all these controls in place seems to lead to much worse prevalence.
How many times are the masses going to buy this shit? Seriously. The story is getting very very old and very very tired.
