There is no reason not to consider
that Earth was meant to be heavenly
and Humanity was meant to thrive - endowed with Agency to do so
As Humanity's numbers multiplied, some somehow became de-Agency-fied
The de-Agency-fied were then used to conquer foreign lands
-- to de-Agency-fy people of the conquered lands
As the de-Agency-fied overwhelmed Earth's population,
memory of heavenly Earth too grew ever more distant

 
But in reality, the de-Agency-fied weren't actually de-Agency-fied
-- for they lost none of their endowed Agency - only the perception of their Agency
- and even then they knew their Agency for Change
- they continued to make breakthroughs after breakthroughs in the sciences

 
"How then were they de-Agency-fied?"
They (un)wittingly subscribed to the Hierarchy Paradigm:
Decision making power is held by higher levels of their social organization and ultimately concentrate in the hands of those at the top of Hierarchy
Thus, subjugating everyone in the lower levels of their population
The paradigm had the effect of making people compete
-- to be higher up on the hierarchy
-- the most divisive of all is when it came to decide representative to elevate who would decide on matters impacting the entire population.
What is as yet to be realized by those in the lower levels is that the almost limitless power offered by the Paradigm to usurp from the population

 
This immense usurping power of this paradigm had been understood by those who held power very early on, and they had over time perfected ways to distract attention away from the paradigm - the source of their power.
They had even allowed changes to be made to the outwardly appearance of power - including the giving up of power by the crown to parliament - giving the appearance of shifting the power to 'decide' who to be elevated to the governing Hierarchy to the people, which was once hereditary by lineage.

 
That the effects of this shift was intended can be gleaned from the ceaseless political polarization of society - when no such polarization existed prior to the shift.
For then, polarized in support of their team to be up on the hierarchy, the population is weaponized to sustain the paradigm - even as they watch daily with cringe, if not horror, the decisions made by "their" elected decision-makers that has no semblance nor pretence of being made for the benefit of the people they are supposed to represent.
And on very rare occasions, they may even pause - if only momentarily, to wonder how society came to be polarized, and more so by the day with no end in sight.
Meanwhile, usurpation has spread and permeated across the full spectrum of human activity - all / no thanks to the Hierarchy paradigm....

 
 
"What then is the solution?"
"General Strike! Revolution!"
But, what after that? Hierarchy 3.0 - Technocracy?

 
IMO we need to return to our Origin Story:

 
Firstly. realize that Humanity - everyone of us - is fully Agency-fied
i.e. for the full spectrum of human activity including self-governance
There is no reason for anyone to consider otherwise
No one - nor paradigm regardless of its longevity - has any right to curtail our endowed Agency
And in fact, people have curtailed their own agency by adhering to the paradigm
It is time everyone stop doing so

 
Secondly, the Reciprocity paradigm is more in line with the broader reality of life on Earth: inter-dependence
What's more, the Reciprocity paradigm puts Agency firmly back in people's hands
Everyone has decision-making and check and balance input at all times
By choosing to embrace this paradigm, in place of Hierarchy, one liberates self from both subjugation and usurpation, for mutual elevation

 
Thirdly, realize that Humanity - everyone of us - is Agency-fied for productive purpose
Why not then set our target for Paradise on Earth?
Let each community collaboratively Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) their way:
- decide what they aspire 'Paradise' to be for themselves
- decide how to realize 'Paradise' for themselves
- review progress periodically and adjust for themselves
Let all communities share their aspirations and experiences with one another
