It's not quite zero sum. Money is diverted to places that can use it to grow, and away from places that will cause it to dwindle. So it improves the efficiency of resource distribution.

High frequency trading sucks though.

I always wanted to have a better understanding of the stock market and other markets and it was always difficult.
