I keep reading about people pouring out literally THOUSANDS and spending years upon years of their lives undergoing painful, discomforting operations to make babies (*and their children, when they grow up, will do the same thing, and their children's children, and so forth). Then claim adoption is unaffordable (and your IVF isn't?). Don't get me wrong; I can only imagine their struggle, but why do people place so much value on reproducing their genes? Are they really that special?
