I think that we can tell from the end of GoT that he fucked up. It's just a matter of how bad he fucked up now.

Put him in jail for writing literal incest porn and damaging an entire generation.

I'm glad Season 8 "killed" interest in that series and you can tell it killed interest in his book too, no matter how he ends it.

So should we get rid of most world mythology before or after we lock him up? Because incest abounds in a lot of it. Even Tolkien had an incestuous affair in the Children of Hurin.

If you read his depictions of incest as something that was meant to arouse the reader then you're the one with the problem, I'm afraid.

And no, interest in the books hasn't declined. The show was only ever entertainment but the books are, quite frankly, the most fascinating work of "fantasy" ever written. I say "fantasy" because what Martin has attempted is to drag the genre, kicking and screaming, back towards mythology - an allegorical tragedy.

Lastly, A Song of Ice and Fire, is the most feminist work of "fantasy" I've ever read. Martin is a noted feminist after all. Don't believe me? Then explain why the vast majority of commenters on the books, on both the forums and youtube are women; all of whom see it as a feminist text. Please, at least read this short essay, it will give you a brief insight into what Martin is trying to say:

Unless of course your brand of feminism believes that even depicting sex in writing is fundamentally evil and abusive. Which might explain why so many women would rather put up with dealing with "trans" rather than come anywhere need the convent of anti-sex feminism.

"If you read his depictions of incest as something that was meant to arouse the reader then you're the one with the problem, I'm afraid." This old lazy bullshit. 🤦‍♀️

GRRM was asked which character he was most attracted to and he answered Dany at a time when she was 14 in the books.

He very much is the one with the problem.

Can you source that quote please? Because the only quote I know is "which character do you most relate to?" Not which character are you most attracted to. You're just making shit up aren't you?

Edit: after repeatedly googling your supposed "quote", in all the myriad forms it could possibly take, and having already watched what I think to be, all of his interviews I can say with absolute certainty that you're telling fucking porkies, mate.

Calling something lazy is not a deconstruction of the argument. Please refer to the pyramid of debate.

The scenes in which the incestuous unions are described feature either rape or an attempted murder. It's quite obvious you're not meant to be aroused in the scenes.

You need to try reading more books.

We all need to let go of caring about what this man writes anymore. He's made it clear he's not got any dedication to finishing his story, and that leaves fans hanging. Neil Gaiman can say 'George R. R. Martin is not your bitch', but we're not his bitches either, and if someone starts a story I expect them to finish it. And if they don't, then I reckon that sucks.
