Have you listened to his criticism of american foreign policy? I disagree with his views on a number of things, but his logic is generally sound. He's a gate keeper on conspiracy theories but i think he realizes that he would lose credibility with the idiotic public. This pisses off Corbett.

He introduced me to libertarian socialism, and the reality of american actions in the world, so I appreciate that side of him. He's a influential human rights advocate.

I'm also interested in language and the study of the human mind, so he has a lot of insight there.

I can't fault him for not getting involved in conspiracy related issues. He has too much to lose and does excellent humanitarian work in other areas.

Important Edit: He also coauthored "The Manufacture of Consent" with Ed Herman, which revolutionized the worlds perception of the media and propaganda. That one accomplishment should make him a conspiracy fan A-Lister.

Check out:

Gatekeeper or no, you'll definitely be more educated after listening to his media breakdown.

Keep the useful info, and discard the rest. If you don't want additional insight on the methods of propaganda, then ignore it.
I try to stay intellectually open-minded. Allies in some fights, adversaries in others.

That's the best strategy to win the fights that count.

the best way to win is to know who is your enemy to begin with. and they are the enemy.

so, we can never be friends?

I'm am your friend, you fuck face. JK! ;-)

Of course we're friends. Are you going to hate me, because I think some of Chomsky's research is useful; because it is. It's fucking useful as hell, and I'll use every tool available to free the minds of mankind.

Following your assumptions a WW2 soldier wouldn't pick up a bad ass samurai sword to defend himself, cause his enemy made it. That is fucking crazy.
I'd pick up that sword like a boss!

Anyway, I feel you're being over-principled, which is detrimental to your cause (s). Would you refuse training in jujitsu if Japan was your enemy? I think not.

Investigate and arm yourself with Chomsky's free anti-propeganda-jitsu. Be as guarded as you like. He's not allowed on the US MSM for a reason. Americans rarely have ever heard of him, unless they we adults in the Vietnam era. There's a good reason for that. So, learn what you can. Ignore what you want. Add some jitsu's to your arsenal. I'd recommend starting with the political terms in the media. Double speak is built into the news, and he'll point out the dual meanings.

I'm hoping that you aren't a butt-hurt SJW. However, I've read your posts. I've evaluated your links. I'm confident you can take a punch, and keep going. What are you afraid of?

I think you're alright. You're my friend until you prove to me that you are not. Regardless, that doesn't change the fact that you're a fuck face.
;-)

please dont call me a fuckface. i never called you names and i expect the same from you.

What are you afraid of?

that those japanese swords left lying around and fighting techniques have weaknesses that only they, the japanes know about and will be exploited when push comes to shove

this over-principled vs under principled thing is something i would like to revisit some other time

i think it is safe to learn the thoughts and mo of these gatekeepers and controlled opposition figures, to learn their different ways of deception. as long as we are aware who they are it should be a learning experience.

Cool list. I'm with you, knowing your enemy is job #1.
