Same reason Facebook is free. You're the product being sold.

It's the truth but it's also too vague to be meaningful. Most porn users will never understand how they're being exploited remotely because in addition to porn it also necessarily involves a huge infrastructure of cooperative businesses like liquor companies, breweries, bars, restaurant chains, processed food manufacturers, and whatnot. What percentage of people will ever figure out how all these businesses coordinate their depredations, and what the common denominator joining them is? The world is run by mafias but few people notice or care.

Why is YouTube free? Because they can run ads and direct you to their premium services. I believe a lot of porn companies have to pay to post their "trailer" type content, and believe it or not there are still a lot of people that still pay for porn.

They sell your meta data and feature premium accounts. So on the surface it may appear to be free, but it's not.

If it’s free it means that you’re the product.

To make the male population docile to their replacement. It's what the Israeli jews did to the Palestinians

Someone, somewhere along the way, figured out that giving away $1,000 worth of their product was more cost-effective than spending $1,000 on ad banners.
