its meant to confuse, big pharma is a part of it.

In some ways, I think it’s because of transhumanism. The idea that “women can have penises” is an attack on protections that were designated for women because of their biology. If we are going into a future where we can “hack” our biology, are those protections even necessary?

There is such an obsession with the connection of humans and technology, it’s being referred to as the fourth industrial revolution.

[–]slushpilot 17 insightful - 1 fun17 insightful - 0 fun18 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Yes. It doesn't matter that these ideas are fundamentally unrealistic. Some people live in a sci-fi fantasy world with the help of the internet, and think themselves beyond biology.

It all depends on the specific connotation of "trans" being applied: it can mean "transition" (from one to the other), or else "transcendence" (beyond).

Meanwhile, we still need those protections.

[–]LesbianOutlaw 2 insightful - 4 fun2 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

There is nothing fundamentally unrealistic about it. Any technological development is possible given sufficient time, resources, and intelligence.

As far as difficult technologies to invent goes, modifying our bodies is going to be laughably easy compared to finding a way to construct an engine capable of transporting our species faster than light.

Actual, literal sex changes will be feasible within mere centuries if we don’t suffer an apocalyptic event as a species. This issue with trans people not being able to be the actual sex they proclaim themselves as is very much a limited time issue.

[–]Literallyawoman 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The issue isn't can they change their genitalia it's the aftermath when they realize it doesn't magically change their lives or other mental health issues, it doesn't make them instantly desirable and feel worthy of love. Especially transwomen who base their idea of what being woman means in absolute fantasy. It's like being obese and fantasizing about being a model instead of just your self at a normal weight.

They're going through these complicated surgeries that cost thousands of dollars, time they can't get back, so much pain in dilation, scar tissue, ruptures, medications... and only finding more things they hate about themselves after the surgery because the problem is their lack of self-worth and acceptance not if they have a dick or a vagina.

It’s definitely realistic, the technology already exists. I want to say that it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing to be a human/machine, but the fact that protections are the first thing being dismantled makes me instantly oppose it.

Up until I became a born again Christian two years ago, following what I believe to be a supernatural, personalized experience from God to me, I was a lifelong transhumanist obsessed with lifespan extension (read all of Ray Kurzweil's books, took supplements/nootropics, restricted calories, etc.), human-machine augmentation, and the holy grail: immortality, achieved either technologically (brain uploading) or biologically ("curing" aging).

Transhumanism will be used to enslave the masses, and empower our overlords with god-like abilities. If you've played the video game Half-Life 2, think of something like every human being reduced to the form of a stalker: sexual organs removed, digestive system removed, lobotomized brain, basically a subservient slave with no free will or autonomy. Perhaps Elon Musk's Neuralink is the beginning of such a diabolical plan to enslave humanity?

Oh, and check out Nicholson1968, Nephtali 1981, and Face Like The Sun on YouTube. They're all critical of transhumanism and delve into it from a Christian perspective.

[–]LesbianOutlaw 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

If we reach that level of technological development there will be no need to enslave humans because androids will be able to do anything a human could do better.

And the only reason you are a “born again Christian” is that the crippling depression from realizing the true nature of our existence and the universe as a whole got to be too much for you. The knowledge that our existence is just a long string of chemical reactions and that there is no grand purpose to our lives is such a burden to carry that most humans are incapable of carrying it so they invent fairytales to make themselves feel better. The cold hard truth that our consciousness can and will be destroyed in an instant for all of eternity is a heavy burden to bear.

Sometimes I think our species is just too smart for our own good. Other species lack the intelligence to have this sort of existential crisis so they can just go blissfully into the void of non-existence.

Once we reach that level of technological development, when self-repairing(/replicating) androids replace the human workforce, one of two things will happen: 1) Having expended our usefulness to them, our overlords will enact draconian population control measures to drastically reduce the population to maximize their control over every facet of our lives (including life and death), 2) The technology tree needed to produce such androids might coincide with the development of an AI that will be god-like, for all intents and purposes. I am tempted to share a hypothetical scenario whereby we create something like that in the future, an AI with the power to simulate reality and immerse simulations in it, but it's something that could cause you psychological distress given enough contemplation on it, so I won't.

I am a Christian because I experienced the supernatural awesomeness of God firsthand, otherwise I'd still be an atheist and a nihilist like you are. I was a nonbeliever until I called out to God for the truth: the truth about myself, Himself, our world, why we're here, and so on. If you are going to ask God for something, ask Him for the truth, for He IS the truth, the absolute truth. God does not care about material things, lives and such, what He cares about is your soul and whether or not you will love Him like He loves you.

I was a nonbeliever until I called out to God for the truth

That's an odd thing for a nonbeliever to do.

[–]TiredJustTired 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Indeed it was, but I forgot to mention that I was experiencing existential dread and hopelessness at the time.

[–]whereswhat 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

But how did you know which god to go to for the truth?

[–]StBlops2cel_is_Lord 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So, don't keep us hangin...what IS the truth?

[–]goobandit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I am critical of transhumanism but I really don’t know what the exact purpose would be to having humanity enslaved. It seems like a lot of work for nothing, no? If you’re coming from the perspective of pro-transhumanism, is the appeal part of a religion or is it simply anti-Christ?

[–]TiredJustTired 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's about control. These power-hungry psychopaths salivate at the thought of being able to control every aspect of your life. It's their fetish. Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for us, it's unsustainable and will eventually lead to a collapse and a reset. Humanity's struggle to be free is neverending. It's what we live and die for.

[–]Questionable 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

It's a form of population control. Don't fall for it, you will destroy your own life, or worse.

[–]TiredJustTired 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Indeed. Why would our overlords, who have never once shown a concern for our needs, bestow such empowering technologies upon us?

[–]jet199 5 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Those who agree aren't only showing themselves to be easily persuaded. They are showing loyalty to their side and/or class. Many of the woke are very clever people and those in power see them prepared to stand up and say 2+2=5, even though they know full well its nonsense, and react approvingly.

[–]magnora7 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Why even repeat such absurd opinions as if they're valid?

I think ignoring such nonsense is the best way to disempower it. If there's a "debate" or a "controversy" then it implies that each side has merit and valid arguments.

If you don't engage at all, one side or the other, then it all just fades away.

Flat Earth, the Mandela Effect, and men did or didn't go to the moon fifty years ago, never to return, are also confusing. But I don't believe in either. As for going to the moon fifty years ago and then no more, I think it is very unlikely. It's all a hoax and has been for a long time.

No, it's just that NASA never saw an increase in their budgets (which I'm pretty sure they expected given their plans), while inflation continued and never stopped. So the poor bastards have to operate on a shoestring budget and even then are required to dabble in gay shit to show conformity. Also, 1965 was when the politics shifted from prosperity (arguable) to funneling as much money as possible into useless trash. I've posted this a few times already, but the entire population of US blacks has eaten about $30 trln (and that's just one money sink). NASA's budget is arooound $30 bil annually. Can you imagine if that money was directed to space?

[–]hennaojichan 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I used to work out with a just-retired NASA engineer. He said that back when well-off high school kids had a PC-Jr at home, the space shuttles still had two Apple II computers. As you suggest, things just do not line up.

it is depressing how we didn't continue on the path that the future seemed to foretold. No flying cars. Our cities seemed to be growing, but the empire state building is from 1930 and the WTC were destroyed. Imagine back then thinking more and more skyscrapers would be built. Manifest destiny, imagine what that felt like. Now our civilization is declining. I think it was competition from the cold war, and socialism that didn't require money for everything just manpower and raw materials.

[–]Hadza 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

To be fair, flying cars are a gimmick and megapolises are pretty cancerous energy sinks. I suggest you check out WrathOfGnon on Twitter, you’ll learn a lot more about perennial urbanism.

I am a pretty big space nerd and I’m hurt even more than others by the realisation

the short answer is that this bullshit all began when we started letting these homosexuals into our schools as teachers and administrators.

now they are teaching our first graders that it is okay to identify as the opposite sex and it is okay to cross dress.

this is fkd up.

Also Yahweh is a hermaphrodite and so Kabbalists think that androgyny is holy.

Once we get used to pantransgenderism, the clone armies will be more socially acceptable.

[–]Narrator 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They need to get white men into the revolutionary cadres that they are going to use to overthrow the government because they are highly capable. They need to make sure they are dedicated to the cause though, so they make them disavow their gender identity as a form of initiation.
