Wow. No talking about mods or users in any non meta thread? Wow.

Yep... pretty retarded and painful on the eyes.

And look at this interesting conversation I had 13 days ago, about /r/conspiracy mod rules, with the guy who wrote the announcement of this being implemented. https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy_conclave/comments/9sf5zl/its_worth_it_to_argue/e91n83t/

Either his arm is seriously being twisted, or he's ignorant about what makes for good rules, or he's just being misleading. I hope it's due to ignorance rather than malice.

It's private lol, can't see unfortunately. What did it say?

It felt rather shoe-horned and the posts that appeared right after seemed... mmm... fake/scripted/banal/pre-planned/oddly timed...

Oh sorry I didn't realize it was a private sub, my bad.

But basically JamesColesPardon said that he would prefer the pyramid of debate system, but "didn't know how to implement it" so I said to just do it like saidit and have that be the only rule. He said he would like to do that, but "I like it just don't know how I can make it enforcible with the personalities currently running things."

Then I asked him if he meant the mods or the admins? He dodged that question and said he liked saidit and said goodbye.

Then today he writes this post about their new sub changes, which are the opposite of being more transparent and straightforward.

It strikes me as pretty ironic.

Very interesting... what surprises me is that there might still be an honest mod @conspiracy lol.

Or even

Any reference to conspiracy theorists in the third person.

What a mess. Let's see how quick I can make it through law school so I can responsibly post and comment again.

Yeah exactly. They moved the opposite direction of transparency, and their plans only create more arbitrary rules that only trolls will take the time to follow...

How Reddit Was Destroyed

The power now resided in individual subreddits, obviously the most popular ones. There was a power grab to become moderators of these subreddits.

Once the default subreddits were controlled, drastic changes began to occur.

Not to mention the fact that default subreddit rules are now completely refined, sophisticated and purposely worded to allow maximum mod-interpretation.

We now have an entirely new way to view upvote/downvote scores. A user used to be able to see their score. But now, everything is fuzzed.

I believe this can essentially be boiled down to not just greed, but controlling and manipulating the information that the millions of people see on a daily basis. Reddit gets billions of views.
