General thoughts on Joseph McCarthy?

Not the most on topic and a bit open ended but I have been trying to do some reading into McCarthy lately and remember hearing on a old youtube clip of TDS (before it was taken down) them talking about how many of the people he accused he got right. Any resources on this? What's your thoughts on him?

McCarthy was right and he didn't go far enough. Just another example of the same smear tactics that are being used today to invalidate/dismiss opposing opinions and people.

The only thing he did wrong was that he stopped. Considering most of his investigations were more inquiries than bringing down the hammer of the law like most modern leftists claim, he did a good job at exposing the Marxist influence on Hollywood. History definitely vindicated him.

He was a paranoid drunk. Hilariously enough, he was largely correct about there being communists everywhere and was largely correct about the threat they posed.

Vastly misrepresented by the media modern and contemporary. The funny thing is he was right about most of what he said and a lot of those people were communists and/or homos. Unfortunately the Jewish media and political system were very much a thing even back then and took their toll on him.

How? The vast majority of his claims were correct and inquiries turned up positive results that Hollywood, was indeed, Red. I say this as a Right-Wing Socialist, Joseph McCarthy was a hero.
