You have to love that almost instinctive and very persistent Gallic resistance to the American cultural monster. It's fantastic and it's a justified chauvinism that, nearly uniquely in the world today, seems as prevalent on the left in France as on the right.

(At lest that's how it seems from the outside apologies to any French readers who are tearing their hair out at my ignorance!)

It obviously has a lot to do with our shared language but I can't even possibly begin to explain just how Americanized our bourgeois in Australia is. Not only are they Americanized they actually spend most of their time shitting on America -- the gun toting, bible thumping 'evil' part of the country of course -- which is why I've long called America bashing our 'National Sport'.

It's also amazing just how little attention the Yellow Vests -- which is probably one of the most important labour protests in my lifetime -- have gotten over here. I was talking to some semi-acquaintances the other day who are very liberal and Navalny and the Russian protests came up and I tried to sort of scoff at the Russian thing by comparing it to the Yellow Vests and two of the people hadn't EVEN HEARD OF IT.

As always fuck all Conservatives who love to laugh at France and say stupid shit like 'Cheese eating surrender monkeys.' The French right in terms of history and sophistication makes the Conservative movement look like a children's tea party by comparison.

Good news for France, neglecting the elite and cultural areas of societies in favour of "real jobs" has been a massive mistake for the right. Let's hope they maintain momentum, resist complacency and never in fight.

American ideas ALREADY tore France apart. Has everyone forgotten the US-supported French Revolution? Where we stabbed Louis in the back after he saved our asses in the Revolution? Where thousands of random people were murdered, Communism found its genesis, and a 20-year long state of near-constant warfare completely changed Europe?

Communism found its genesis

Nationalism as well. People forget that.

True, but a sort of Nationalism already existed in the sense of extreme duty to country. The French revolution had some positive effects but many, many negatives.

The US was less than a decade old when the French revolution happened as well as being on another continent. The Ancien regime treated it's people like shit with the tax and estate system, couple that with famine and economic hardship and you got the revolution.

The American revolution served as inspiration. Yes a revolution was inevitable but the poking and prodding that our diplomats and thinkers did helped fuel the extreme violence and proto-Communist ideals.

Just saw this on twitter and had a laugh.

About a month ago I made this comment:

It's so weird because in France at the moment you have a center right party trying to fake it as a hard right party and a supposed far right party in FN trying to pretend to be a center right party -- or at the least make themselves more palatable and normie friendly.

Seems still to be true.

The difference of course is that Le Pen will actually do somerhing.

It just amuses me. Obviously though I want Le Pen to win in a landslide.

France has always seemed to have a different breed of liberalism from the anglo world and more importantly the most hostile in the West to American cultural dominance. I remember reading that they even had a law to limit the amount of English speaking songs on their radio. It be changing but they have also been much less fluent in English compared to other Northern European nations.

Does anyone more familiar with France know how prevalent miscigenation is there? Demographic data seems pretty abysmal with 40% non-white births, and the anecdotal evidence I have is also pretty bad.

Although it is great that French centrists and leftists are rejecting Jewish-American insanity, "French Republican Values" will at this point only result in a mulatto state in the heart of Europe. The French right wing must reject republicanism and reaffirm the racial character of France.

In Paris, yes.
