Indeed. We seem to be heading towards some ecological catastrophe. 85% of the world's fisheries are exhausted, chemical agriculture has destroyed vast swathes of fertile land and most of the planet's forests have been destroyed. One has to wonder how long until all this translates into some sort of ecological catastrophe?

My guess is that many of the global elites realize this and want to move towards some sort of one world regulated government where consumption and life standards would be minimized and population would be dramatically reduced. But I guess they run into heavy resistance because the current capitalist system is so lucrative for much of the elite and the liberal religion of the west prevents serious efforts at population control.

I mean, degeneracy and feminism help collapse birth rates in most of the world, but what about Africa? The same liberal bleeding hearts give trillions to Africa and allow them to breed exponentially.

I doubt the elites want that because the population would revolt. Just look at what happened in France when they taxed fuel a bit more. Modernity is predicated on the promise of improving life standards. When that promise ends the game's over.

There's also the risk of nano and bio technology in the coming decades. Soon we'll be living in a world where almost anyone will be able to build WMDs in a basement. That's not that far off.

Why do people assume that the second industrial revolution resulted in the maximum potential of IQ. If industrial society can create a civilization with higher IQs perhaps there could be a different form of society not yet developed that will cause IQs to rise even higher.

I think it is a flaw to see lowering IQs as exclusively genetic and ignore potential environmental influences. The internet/social media culture that everyone lives in today is something new and does effect cognition. I can tell from my own experience that both my memory and attention have degraded through excessive internet use over the years. I struggle to even watch a movie in 1 sitting now. I have been attempting to reverse this.

I am not so sure about the dystopian AI future in which AI rules over a dumbed down mass of humanity. It would seem in order for AI to rule you would still need extremely intelligent people to keep it all running correctly. We are no where close to having AI doing all of that on their own.

I can tell from my own experience that both my memory and attention have degraded through excessive internet use over the years. I struggle to even watch a movie in 1 sitting now. I have been attempting to reverse this.

I've experienced the same in regards to books. The internet has reduced my attention span. But this is a recent phenomenon. The internet has only been around for 30 years or so. I know that there is a good argument to be given in favor of chemical pollution and lowering testosterone but the dysgenic trends are undeniable.

The end stages of the 2nd industrial revolution(1960) coincided with the peak of human achievements. Never before in history did people grow up with more than adequate food, free from endemic diseases and child mortality and a mass education system. Imagine the amount of study an average student has to do today. Its greater than that of a King in the 18th century.

You are quite demoralized Caspar, but you write well and I agree with a lot of what you've written here. I think we can try to look for ways to look for a positive future. Is it not possible that the second industrial revolution caused by AI could increase the population of humanity by vast amounts and is it not possible that within this huge population would exist enclaves of God like human beings in terms of intelligence that have segregated themselves from the dysgenic part of humanity? Perhaps this is how Chimps evolved, a small enclave of suddenly intelligence primates provided lots of food for the rest of the population causing a dysgenic impact on the rest, over thousands/millions of years this could diverge into different evolutionary paths.
With AI, we could see the split from homo sapiens by a small part of humanity and an emergence of something more and beyond Human. Homo sapiens would devolve over time as they're provided for by the small elite beings.

This is part of the solution. The ultimate goal would be to breed the best genes and create a strain of the God-race. A group of people unmatched in intellect, beauty, and virtues. Then these people should be bred to great numbers in isolation and be infused with a strong purpose and pride.

Then hope that with their superior intelligence, they are able to defeat the techno-capital system and usher in a new golden age.

Do you mean only the best genes from whites? If the goal is purely to breed superior humans then one would reach this faster by bringing the best of whites and the best of every other race together. Individuals who score high on divergent thinking tests, (120+) on IQ tests, and measures of conscientiousness. The vast majority would be White and Asian and when this group eventually became homogenous you could have the next thing you mentioned:

A true master race would need to have many qualities. High intelligence for sure, but a spiritual sentiment that leads to high art, physical attractiveness that leads to great romance, attachment, and preference of their own above others. High testosterone and courageous nature, a knack of questioning the prevailing narrative, physical strength, ability to think for themselves, etc.

Honestly, even taking the genes from the finest stock and cross-breeding won't be enough. You'd have to raise the children in isolation over generations and keep weeding out specimens until you finally achieve a perfect strain. It's honestly no different than breeding horses over generations for greater speed or performance in war. It would be an endeavor that takes place over centuries and would require a dedicated group of people watching the project to its very end.

I like the idea in Plato's Republic of the guardians being reared in a way that they find anything outside of what they've been taught as entirely foreign and thus bad. This helps create an optimal heuristic that prevents the constant long-winded explaining that leftists so often resort to from ever taking form.

Its an excellent article. However, I disagree slightly about the root of the impending collapse. The decline in IQ is a factor, certainly. But there are other factors that matter much more: Namely, relations between men and women. In the West, the sexual marketplace has negatively changed from what it was just 20 years ago. Hypergamy, gynocentric laws, and feminist society have turned the dating culture into a wasteland. This has enormous effects on a society. After all, so much of human behaviour is directly or indirectly related to sexual impulses (both among men and women)

Rome struggled with these problems as well. I think it is a problem that is encountered by all powerful empires. In most societys, women are dependent on men for their survival. Because of this, they need to keep their bad behaviours in check. But once a society with material abundance arises, the women no longer depend on men for their survival. The state becomes a surrogate husband, which accommodates their every need. The women then spend their time pursuing alpha males for sex, while demanding that they get more and more free stuff from the state, including equal rights that they have done nothing to earn.

And keep in mind, this is only one factor among many that are plaguing the West today.
