if someone want to start off with a book to get a handle on right political philosophy, where would u suggest they start?

'Right' political philosophy is a broad category and can take years to get caught up on. You don't really get 'conservative' or modern right philosophy until post WWII and that's only because things started sliding HARD left. So all western philosophy today can be considered somewhat right by modern warped Jew standards. Therefore maybe just start with any western history philosophy course syllabus pre 1990's. You'd need to read Socrates, Plato, Machiavelli, Aquinas, Goethe, Aristotle, Rousseau, Locke, Adam Smith, Schopenhauer (and probably a dozen others). Go to the s/runebook sub and check the oldest post. There's couple of great western political and philosophical reading catalogs there. If you want more contemporary you can read Mencken or Roger Scruton. I won't claim to have read deeply on every author (My reading preference is more history over philosophy) but you can familiarize yourself with them by picking up college readers that combine some of these authors.

A short cut to the heavy reading above is watching old Lectures of British ethnonationalist Johnathan Bowden. Dude was a fucking Genius. His lectures are like mini history lessons and will give you tons of leads on interesting political and philosophic thinkers.

After you've done that reading then you get into the 'dissident' reading sphere. You're going to find authors like Evola, Guenon, Yockey, Spengler, Schmitt, Hitler, Gregor, Martin Heidegger, Devi, Nietzsche (save him till later in your reading diet). (I'm leaving a shit ton of people out but you get the drift).

Another tip with dealing with the heavy reading load: just read stuff that you get interested though video or lectures and there's nothing wrong with reading summaries or excerpts from books. There's a LOT to read so no shame in not reading the compete works of every author that everyone tells you to read. If you're trying to just understand the alt right more I'd read David Duke My Awakening and listen to William Luther Pierce lectures. Then if you get a chance read Culture of Critique by Kevin McDonald. Shout out to Counter Currents website. They have lots of great articles and summaries to get you started.

edit. Also for the record I'm probably not the best person to ask. I've only been diving into right wing lit the last 4 years. There are others that have been doing it WAAY longer. Feel free to make a thread and maybe get a bit more specific about what you are looking for and I'm sure you will get some quality responses.
