German court sentences 101-year-old to 5 years for role as Nazi guard

As far as I can tell, German elderly prisons are basically just free nursing homes, so this "nazi" will probably be fine. The court provided no evidence that the defendent directly participated in extermination activities, however, the article points out that soldiers who helped a prison camp function in any capacity can be prosecuted due to a recent change in German law. This seems a bit ex post facto in my opinion, like a sort of elderly nazi witch hunt.

The man was only fit to stand trial to a limited extent and was only able to participate in the trial for about two and a half hours each day. The trial was interrupted several times for health reasons and hospital stays.

Glad we got this guy off the street.

I don't see why jews aren't just executing family member descendants of accused nazis at this point

Could you imagine seeing 100 years of history come down to this? If I was 101 I would have told them to have their kangeroo bris without me.

The good news is now that a precedent has been set, many of these neocon war criminals that think theyre in the clear can look forward to spending their golden years in a cell with tyrone.

Meanwhile Germany let Erich Honecker and other senior officials of the DDR walk .They did prosecute and convict some guards at the walls who shot and.killed someone trying to climb the wall...
