This has revolutionary potential.

Baerbock has also said they'll support Ukraine no matter what, no matter what German voters think, no matter how many people go out on the streets. It's gonna be interesting, to say the least.

As much as I'd love to see a revolution happen over this, I don't think its going to happen. There might be a few ineffectual protests, but they will be crushed just like the truckers convoys in Canada, and nothing more will come of it.

People are just way too demoralised and atomised to overthrow their government. Europeans are going to take this laying down. Nothing ever happens anymore.

Yeah but trucker convoy was a protest over fake bullshit, for many Germans this will be the first time they'll want something sweet to eat but will think about it very well before they buy it. Freezing won't be that much of an issue imo, people will just pay for heating way more, so it will be an issue of general poorness.

How about no? They were protesting over the vaccine mandates, which was affecting their ability to earn a living. People should never have their right to bodily autonomy violated, or have their right to informed consent violated.

Assuming they actually have enough LNG to meet the countrys needs. They are already talking about energy rationing.

Protests were over something which affected small minority of people and they were took over by right-wing grifters is what I was saying.

Yeah, they will utilize "libtard ascetism" as much as possible, but I think most of the people just won't oblige, so government will save their reserves on dedicated libtards and people will pay more as a consequence.

The truckers weren't the only ones affected by the vaccine mandates. Nurses were affected too, and many were fired for their refusal to get vaccinated.

Electricity bills in Europe are skyrocketing already. People won't be able to heat their homes during winter.

But will they take to the streets in protest? They didn't protest 2 years of covid lockdowns.

The thing is that especially today - but also in the past, if you ask me - Russia and Germany are natural strategic partners. Both countries benefit enormously from cooperating with each other. Since Germany is under US dominance, however, it can't help but go against its own interests.
