Star trek has quite a few references to Jewish culture. The Ferengi are the most obvious standouts but for me the Founders (changlings) were always the closest proximity to how Jews see themselves.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changeling

Since most of the supernatural beings of Scandinavian folklore are said to be afraid of iron, Scandinavian parents would often place an iron tool such as a pair of scissors or a knife on top of the cradle of an un-baptised infant to prevent its being abducted by the trolls. It was believed that if a human child were still taken, in spite of such measures, the parents could force the return of the child by treating the changeling cruelly, using methods such as whipping or even inserting it in a heated oven

The USS Liberty (NCC-168) was a United Earth starship, a Minuteman-class destroyer in Earth Starfleet service in the 22nd century. This ship was in active service around the year 2159. (ST video game: Legacy)

In the year 2167, the USS Liberty was severely damaged by a Ferengi Alliance attack force near the border while patrolling in Federation space, killing 34 and wounding 171. (ST video game: Legacy)

There was another funny one about the Ferengi and some other race but I can't recall it.

IIRC the Ferengi were supposed to be a parody of the worst aspects of capitalism, not the Jews. You're not the first to make the comparison though.

I remember thinking the Klingons were stand-ins for Arabs while the Vulcans were how Jews saw themselves.

There's this unintentionally hilarious scene when the Ferengi are first introduced in which Data (early life) says they are like ... "Yankee traders".

DAR is back on the front page! That's awesome.

Holy fuck, can't believe ST: Enterprise is already two decades old. That's the one with Scott Bakula if anyone is confused.

Besides the Alternate Universe episodes, which are really fun to watch while tripping, the entire run is pretty much a snooze fest.

It is common in the Trek universe to do the whole social justice schtick, even ST: TNG is too goddamned preachy most of the time for me now and it wasn't the disappointment Enterprise was. DS9 and to a lesser extent Voyager are the most watchable.

I'll be the first to say it, Star Trek was always left-wing. How it found itself in nerd circles when the agenda is obvious is a mystery.

Star Wars was nearly the same thing, although George Lucas message of anti-authoritarianism could be adopted by both sides.

The original trilogy however, was still influenced by his hatred of the Vietnam War and President Nixon. And then the 2000 era prequels were also influenced by his hatred of the Bush administration.

If so it's done badly.

You can't say races have different personality characteristics and behaviors but we can get away with saying Aliens do so let's do that.

That's the beauty of antiwhiteness.

Races exist when you want to discriminate against whites, but when you want to favor whites, the idea of "whites" suddenly become inconceivable.

Likewise, the different alien races in StarTrek are used to illustrate how its bad for "humans" (ie whites) to interfere with other cultures, while at the same time illustrating how "humans" (ie whites) must allow diversity. That's basically the entire plot of StarTrek

I don't agree with that. In think the main alien species in Star Trek track pretty neatly to races or cultures, it's not just white vs everyone else.

I mean who do you think the ferengi represent? Do you think they make the humans look bad?

Star Trek: Enterprise is not Star Trek.

My fave episodes:

Why not?

Star Trek: Enterprise is not Star Trek. It's in the name. The same name in the OP. Sure they're all part of the Star Trek Franchise but distinctions matter.
