Look, it's not about making changes or what have you. You're dealing with extremely frustrated people who want the world to be perfect. Not great, not super, not spectacular, not oh-my-god orgasmic. No, perfect. In every way it's possible to be perfect.

And when it's not, because when has it ever been, they get really bitter. They start lashing out to empty themselves of the bad feelings they get. Things are better today than they have ever been in human history (see Stephen Pinker's work on this topic) and still it's not good enough for them.

So just train yourself to ignore them. Just make the "jack off" hand motion whenever you hear them chanting and ranting. It's about their precious feelings. They are delicate snowflakes and easily melt when exposed to the real world.

It really depends on which part of the world you are speaking of. There are still pockets of societies having to share an unfair burden for the better quality of life enjoyed by others, some of those pockets have life spans less than 20 years. Not to mention the relativity of whether that better quality of life is sustainable in the long run, of whether the organizational matrices are capable of adapting to the challenges of a chaotic environment created by its own doing.

So I share your sentiment in the pointless criticism of smaller issues, but by and large; things still need to be worked out on a massive scale to even consider ourselves sustainable. The real quest is towards equilibrium and we have yet to even find the numbers for it, before anything could be put into practice.

I order shit off Amazon almost every day. Mr. Bezos employs thousands of people, millions when you kick in the factory workers in China. Doing my part for the little guy!
