Hello fellow factory builders!

I am sorry to interrupt your factory building time, so I'll keep it short: s/factorio has been created to discuss all Factorio related things. Share your blueprints and ideas!

What's your favorite playstyle?

I like making maps with tons of enemies and also tons of resources. I'm trying a game now with the enemy wait time set to 1 min min instead of 10 mins, and the group size set to max. They come in groups of 50 or more now, it can be pretty tough! Takes like 8 laser guns to kill that many guys consistently.

I am currently on a map without enemies, going for the largest and most efficient factory. I am trying a modular concept, with 7 subfactories: main (red/green), refinery, blue, grey, purple, yellow, and rockets. So far it seems to work.

Nice, that sounds cool. Are you using blueprints or doing it by hand from scratch?

Pretty much by hand, I only use blueprints I made myself.

Interesting. Good for kids? I have a nephew and niece.

Not exactly a traditional factory, I have an elaborate matrix of systems that takes up an entire 12km valley with a space bridge. It's complicated and difficult to explain concisely. Eventually you'll be able to read about it in /s/BittersweetSeeds.

I love factories, although I usually make them in voxel games (/s/worldsimulators).
