Day mode would look much better if the background was somewhat off-white.

Would reduce eye strain and look better while still keeping it crisp and readable in bright sunlight. I'm thinking a light grey or teal.

Also, in other news, what's the difference between submitting to /s/frontpage and /s/whatever?

Seems like a good idea, it is a little bright. We could maybe do like #e3e3e3 or so instead of #fdfefe. I'll play with it over the next few days.

I think it's a good idea too. I also find myself using day mode on my phone in bright sunlight.

/s/frontpage kind of comes with reddit, I'm not sure what it does or what the intention is. I recommend using /s/whatever instead as it's more active.

I ended up settling on #f8f8f8 for the daymode background, down from #fdfefe. It's subtle, but it looks better, much smoother on the eyes. What do you think? Thanks for the suggestion.

Degenerate here - not picky enough to complain, but still unable to understand why anyone would prefer off-white, or night mode.
