Yep, make mine with grass cuttings, food waste, ashes from the smoker and coffee grounds. Only down side is I get a bit of grass coming up when I put it on my borders.

Nice. Do you do it in a pile or tumbler or bin? I have 2 small bins and a big grass pile. Just today I went to turn the grass pile and it was steaming hot!

We had 3 bins built with pallets for 'clean' compost (no poop). However, turning them with a pitchfork got to be tough, so we went with sixteen x 43 gallon tumblers(~$100 each). We do grass clipping, shredded cardboard, garden waste, straw from mulching. We also do vermiposting with our kitchen scraps, and make aerated tea from that for special herbs and botanicals. You get nothing the first year, but after that you have all you need.
