The problem is that people are generally horrible. The solution is making better people.

Humanity cannot be improved. But it may be possible to improve a small group of people. People naturally organize into groups with shared characteristics. These are ethnicities. All current ethnicities are horrible. So the idea would be to try to make a new ethnicity of good people. This ethnicity should be designed to select for good people so that the culture and genetics of the people in the ethnicity would improve over time.

I admit that it would probably take several centuries before one could actually produce a good group of people. But even at the beginning, the group would be much less bad than the rest of humanity because it would be composed of people who at least want people to improve. I think this is as good as you can get in this lifetime.

I am calling this idea intentional ethnicity and I have a specific implementation in mind. Please let me know what you think.
