The US is doing better than Europe in regards to per capita corona virus deaths. Why is this never discussed?

Why is everyone ignoring that the US is doing pretty good in terms of per capita Corona virus deaths? Of course the overall rate of death will be higher with such a large population, but the per capita death rate is lower than almost all European Union countries, with the exception of Germany. Can someone with a different opinion please explain to me why my conclusion is wrong?

Ah, Spain is higher than Italy. I haven't been to either country for over twenty years so tell me.

Northern Italy, maybe because of the Alps, has the highest air pollution rate and the highest "death rate from SARS-Covid-2 Influenza." It may have been singled out by China to scare Hell out of the rest of Europe. Also, Italians tend to have three-generation households and maybe old info, smoke too much. If you have been to Italy recently, please correct me on the smoking.
