Yet, a majority of the people falls into panic and tunnelvision when the media report meaningless numbers about a virus, and agree with losing their jobs, livelihoods, and all their civil rights.
So what people say and what they really think are completely different. The vast majority of people are susceptible to fake news, panic and hate mongering, and astroturfing.

it's still mainly all due to the media lying about WMDs years ago, they will never regain trust after that
