He had prior felonies, the drugs split up for sale, and generally over an oz is a bad idea legally if you're just using personally. That guy was a low level drug dealer.

It's still stupid to send him to life behind bars over.

I figured out why we’re supposed to care about this: he’s black.

Don’t care. One less person coming to burn my town to the ground.

A simply research finds Allen Russell is not the poor helpless victom who just had 30 grams of weed, NO Russell in 2004 pleaded guilty to burglary charges for which he served over eight years. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon for which he served two years. While Mississippi law designates burglary as a “crime of violence,” that has only been the case since the state legislature changed the law in 2014. Prior to that, at the time when Russell pleaded guilty to burglary, the crime was only designated as a violent crime if the state could prove that actual violence was committed during the commission of the act. https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/mississippi-appeals-court-upholds-38-year-old-mans-mandatory-life-sentence-without-parole-for-marijuana-possession/

I wish every state put criminals like Russell in prison for life and I wish saidit only posted factual storys so I don't have to correct others.

The article includes the information about his prior felonies. It's the title of the article that's misleading.

Every day that dude is in jail costs $52.18. $19,000 a year. For $200-300 of weed. That benefits the prison industry, not so sure about society.

Oh maybe if he was out of jail, he wouldn’t be costing tax payers money. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

If he was out, he’d be making babies too and we’d have to pay for them as well cause you know he sure as hell isn’t.

19,000 a year sounds like a good deal to me.

The maximum Weekly Benefit Amount (WBA) allowed in Mississippi at this time is $235.00.

The maximum monthly benefit amount a one-person household could receive in food stamps is $194.

$235 and $194 is $429 times 52 is $22,308 yearly welfare baby mama money. $401,544 for 18 years, as many kids as she can cram in. Average lifespan of a black adult is 75 (yikes didn't know that). $19k a year for incarceration for the rest of his life (75-39=36) is $684,000.

Babies are a better investment than prisoners.

Edit: oh wait I'm forgetting chips... It's gonna be more expensive for welfare mammas than I thought. I'd still rather spend money on babies than prisoners though.

We are going to need to spend 20,000 a year on that baby for public school and a degree at Hate Whitey U. If it turns out to be a criminal, thats more prison, more court costs. If that baby isn’t a criminal then we only have to pay them $100,000 a year in salary and benefits for public sector worker, yay, success!

Are any of these people going to use healthcare? Thats at least 10,000 a year if not obese.

Are any of these people going to blm peaceful protests? That will be another 5000 a year in damages.

I wonder if Alan Russell will go straight this time, or will we have to pay court costs again in 6 months.

Hey, if he resists arrest and the cops shoot him it will be 27 million dollars taxpayers will have to fork up.

Some babies are an investment. Some are likely to cost taxpayers 400,000 on average over the course of their lifetime. Can you guess which ones?

I mean, if he shot some homeys we might break even.

Don't worry, we're just going to throw white women at them until they don't exist. Nicest genocide ever.

That seems to be the plan lol. Only Im not sure its whites that are throwing those girls.

Good point, guess life should be like.

There's a number of rehabilitation/punishment alternatives that would involve the criminal contributing to society such as fines or community service. And alternatives that would not contribute to society but would also not cost so much as life imprisonment, like flogging.

our justice system does not deliver justice.

Cant have welfare, ubi, public healthcare, etc, and legal pot. That will be a disaster. The entire country will be doped up and couch surfing.

People advocating this don’t understand how evolution works. We are being lulled in to extinction.

Where armed burglars continue their drug-running operations in peace!

[–]Node 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Haven't heard about the armed burglars, but California has large variations in almost any category you can think of.
