This belongs in /s/VaccineInjuries.

You appear to have dropped this.

Possibly. Thanks.

Then it won't show on the front page

/s/VaccineInjuries is NOT censored from the front page.

and showing up matters much more.

Why? She is certainly not the only one with vaccine injuries. These stories are sad, but common, and will continue to be, likely for years to come. I'm not dismissing the tragedy, just trying to improve SaidIt for future researchers.

It belongs there too, but it's too bad SaidIt doesn't allow multiple topics or extra-categorization with tags.

Agreed. That's always been a problem.

Feel free to make a /s/DiscoverSaidIt post and include this list with your own modifications or additions and encourage folks to subscribe to them. If you don't I might - and I'll ask for other subs to include. A Friday afternoon post gets the weekday and weekend folks.

I'm down to update the default subs, it hasn't been done in some time. I imagine a few others should be added too.

You're absolutely right, the default subs are the public face of saidit. So any upsetting/contentious subs are intentionally left off of the list. But it does seem like some covid content should be in there.

I'm coding this beast by myself, so I doubt that any serious refactorings of how any of this works will ever be done. We do have a setting to make /s/all your home page though. Anyway thanks for the saidit improvement ideas.

i just made a legit post to /s/vaccineinjuries and it does not show up under saidit.net/comments or saidit.net/new

i am just simply going to need to put my forum online and to implement my methods to only allow friendly people and to not allow shills.

        yes, it is possible.

and yes, it is what buries every forum...

freedom of speech does not mean that you allow your enemies into your home and they will have the freedom to scream at you all day and all night.

Whewf. Seems like I opened a can of worms. But it's not only important for SaidIt, it's important for Cassy and other /s/SaiditAlternatives, like the new Votal.net potentially.

I wasn't aware of what was actually Default. Thanks for the list. Seems like perhaps we should do a /s/SaidItSurvey and/or /s/AskSaidIt about this.

Are you saying something not in the default topics (e.g. /s/VaccineInjuries) has an equal chance of appearing on the front page of someone who isn't subscribed to it (i.e. most people)?

Yes and no - depending on how you have your front page set up. Perhaps SaidIt should also critically consider how we want our default front page to be, subscribed or all: /s/SaidIt/comments/7sve/saidit_public_service_announcement_preference/ (perhaps worth reposting).

No matter how many votes it gets, if subscribed people don't have all as their default they will never see it.

All of this would most noticed in a post coming from the supreme admin (Long reign /u/d3rr!), if he's up for it.

I got carried away here and just made it into a post: /s/SaidIt/comments/899v/public_service_announcement_are_you_getting_all/

cc /u/skeech, I'm guessing you have the default subscribed in your settings. I'm curious to hear about your forum.

anyways, i dont know what my settings are setup as, but new users are setup like i am setup.. and when i mentioned to you earlier that if i post in certain subs that it is somewhat hidden... i meant that it doesnt show up under /new or /comments , which sorta hides it..

some time ago, i created a few subs using another username, and quite quickly the admins of this site removed my subs from /new and /comments which i thought was very hostile on the part of this site when this happened, i am still here, but i lost entire interest in using this site, saidit.

i will not release details about what i am working on, not until i release it, because there are some real motherfuckers in these audiences, and they will straight up steal my ideas.

i will say tho that my work will be very simple and very basic and it will most definitely be hosted exclusively on the darkweb.

Yep. That can be solved for individuals like you, but sadly not for all.

i will not release details about what i am working on, not until i release it, because there are some real motherfuckers in these audiences, and they will straight up steal my ideas.

Fair enough. I look forward to seeing your good ideas.

Ironic that you seek maximum exposure here, yet you're developing for a limited audience on the darkweb.

i dont care care about maximum exposure, but i dont want to post to a hidden sub.

        [–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

It's not hidden to 1) those who have subscribed and 2) those who have set their front page to all.

        [–]skeech 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

nah, i want to see this site in the same way that newly registered users will see it.

        [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

the default "home page" will never be /s/all. This takes away the very little editorial power that saidit has, in choosing the "default subs" for /s/subscribed. This is where saidit can present itself as not full of /s/debatealtright or something similar.

        [–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I'm not suggesting that be changed. I just want more user awareness about their options and that a deeper SaidIt is possible. IMO this is important to the new and occasional visitors who may be looking for more but don't know the ins and outs. We could add something to the FAQ.

Millions of Americans have been vaccinated twice by Pfizer and are fine. Naturally there will be a small amount of people who experience negative side effects and experience great harm from the vaccine.

        Shalom
