If cops start using drones more:

  1. Will the be legally recognized like police dogs. Is shooting at one like shooting at a cop?

  2. Will all drones be equipped with small bombs?

They are Terminators, and can kill without being charged because they are not human and murder only applies to humans.

The complete lack of accountability is problematic. It may be hard to even know it was police murder droning people and not Obama. Video records of police murdering people don't help bring accountability, if it goes in a archive folder somewhere while the victim's family wonder what caused the mysterious death.

Even when accountability seems clear and device and operator video is available, the ability to prove criminality, beyond a reasonable doubt, becomes extremely difficult.

I also don't agree with the concept of killing innocent people to save others, as the people who make that decision, frequently make it poorly. Who dares think they should make that call?

Maybe try resolving without violence.

sorta crazy. when if you did. maybe they would be criminals? or write detective books. defund taxes for schools in your neighborhood. if you dont have children of that age. sounds more sensible.

That piece was inspired by a proposal that would allow San Francisco police to use robots for killing “when risk of loss of life to members of the public or officers is imminent and outweighs any other force option available to SFPD.” Last night, that proposal passed the city’s board of supervisors with an 8-3 vote.

Experts say it's extremely rare and possibly a "first" for a police department to use a bomb robot with an explosive device to kill a suspect who poses a threat, as Dallas police say they did following shootings that left five officers dead and seven others wounded.

I mean, this doesn’t sound good. But it clearly was used for “good”. The article I’m referencing, the gunman was a badass. It was used to take out a “bad guy” that allready killed 5.

Maxie added that robots could be armed with explosives, “to contact, incapacitate, or disorient violent, armed or dangerous suspect.”
