My Mother has cursed my grandmother's very existence for the past 50 years, and she died 30 years ago~ There is no reality in which anything you have said is correct.

In general, no, I can't relate to worn out tropes derived from over used movie quotes. You see, I'm an adult. And I live in the magical land called 'fucking reality'.

If a mother is abusive to her child, then her love is meaningless to that child, because it's just not there. A woman who murders her child to cover up drug consumption, or who lets her child get molested by the child's stepfather, or who bans her child from seeing his father just because the woman wants to stick it to the father, then she's a horrible mother who does not deserve any love from the child.

I stand up for mothers and fathers who genuinely care about their children. But I will not die on a hill for a mother who abuses or neglects her children.

I think it's far more likely they were just abusing sadists and the drugs thing is an excuse because their real motivation was even worse.
