So I could jizz and spit in your food and you would be ok with that? Too trivial to care, I guess. I really hope people around you, never have their immune system fail them, cause you don't seem to really care about the weakest and sickest, who can be killed through such 'trivial' actions.
Even if the chance to get struck by lightning is higher than to kill someone, contaminating others food isn't only gross as fuck, but also doesn't add anything positive. It's only a chance to fuck up, with nothing to gain and everything to lose.

The rabbit hole of risks it's never ending. At some point there is a diminishing return on safety.
This particular example is light years Beyond that threshold. By your same logic, all buffets could/should be banned.
What if someone picks up food for a deathly ill person? All hell would break loose!

You don't get it. People with immune problems don't go to buffets and no sane person would get them food from a buffet. There's a reason that grocery stores have those glass windows over food that's displayed. People call it sneeze screen. People who don't like other's saliva and mucus on their food.

I get it. The system works fairly well.
If a 16 year old prankster did this should that individual recieve a punishment similar to manslaughter? I think that is ridiculous.
Plenty of people do reckless things, but they don't get punished for harm done, unless someone is tangibly harmed.
No one was harmed.
People shouldn't' be punished for hypothetical scenarios. It's easy to create situations that could be dangerous, but that is unethical.
Actually they do have something like this. It's the plastic seal around the ice cream lid. Don't eat it if the seal is broken.

You jump from one thing to another and don't even realize how fucking useless this is. Every nation has it's own laws. Some of them recognise, that minors are stupid, so they get milder sentencing. Also there are laws that punish you for putting other people in danger, even if it didn't harm anyone. It's about principles.
But I lost interest in this useless discussion. Ciao.
