As recently as August 7, 2019, the FTC has been accused of colluding with industry to betray the trust of the American consumer.
In 1906, Pulitzer Prize Winning Writer Upton Sinclair published his seminal novel, "The Jungle." Ostensibly, it was about an immigrant who worked in the meat packing industry in Chicago. This was during the time that the Chicago River would literally spontaneously combust from pollutants. Don't ask me. Look it up.
Sinclair's purpose in writing the novel was to convert Americans to socialism by showing the deplorable working conditions Polish, Irish, and other immigrants were exposed to. Instead, what Americans saw was how they were being poisoned by rotten meat in their food supply. And so the Food and Drug Administration was founded to protect the American food supply from contamination.

THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION
Where the FDA makes laws, the FTC ENFORCES them in THE MEDIA.
For example, the word "cure" can only legally be used in commerce in the United States of America as relates to a drug that has passed approval of the FDA. The FDA must approve such drug. But the use in commerce is then enforced by...
THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION
Nothing else can be legally termed a "cure." There are no conspiracies, backroom deals, or hidden secrets. It is literally the law of the land. The Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914 established... the Federal Trade Commission. The Act, signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914, outlaws "unfair" methods of competition and outlaws "unfair" acts or practices that impact commerce.
All this came on the heels of the Presidency of the "Trust Buster" President Teddy Roosevelt, Mr. Bull Moose, himself, for whom the palindrome, A Man A Plan A Canal Panama was coined.
With just over 100,000 employees, the Federal Trade Commission operates such benignly consumer-friendly concepts as the Do Not Call List.
However, as recently as August 7, 2019, the FTC has been accused of colluding with industry to betray the trust of the American consumer.
In sum, the Federal Trade Commission is a specific controlling arm of the federal government which works on behalf of certain industries to control the media narrative of medicine, health, and food. No conspiracy necessary.
