Currently I have a religious exemption from the COVID vaccine, but I am thinking about moving to a job where they don't allow religious exemptions BUT there is a preliminary court order in that state banning the enforcement of vaccine mandates. So the new job is suspending their vaccine mandate, which means I believe I could take the job without even disclosing whether I have taken the vaccine. The thing is that the court order is preliminary, until some other court thing gets decided, and if it gets lifted for some reason (which seems very possible) then this new workplace has made it clear that it intends to fire everyone who is unvaccinated.
Should I just take the new job any way? Here are some pros and cons I can think of:
Pros about taking the new job:
I feel like my life is stagnating in all aspects where I currently am. The new job will pay for my moving expenses so I get to experience living in a new part of the country
My current job is unbearable, and the middle management hates me, and they have fired people they hate before, so my current job might not be so stable
I will get more money in the new job
Cons about taking the new job:
- Current job's top management isn't as crazy with respect to COVID - they honor religious exemptions so I didn't have to take the vaccine. I will be less likely to get fired for a COVID related reason at my current job.
Should I just accept the risk of the court order getting reversed and take the new job?
