U.S citizen's can not commit treason against Washington D.C or the federal government. As not only is it patriotic to rebel against them, the federal government, along with it's capitol are not a part of the United states. Treason? Yes, I suppose an argument can be made, as he has once lived in the District of Columbia. But no more. He is now a resident of Florida, and the United States.
