Which is better: StartPage or DuckDuckGo?

I currently use DuckDuckGo along with Brave.

imo startpage.. i also think you would be better off with firefox or even better, torbrowser

This right here. Startpage no longer has its privacy centered reputation because of the buyout. DuckDuckGo and search.privacytools.io are my current main engines.

i understand. i just meant, it's basically google sw, and what can be worse than google when it comes to privacy. to make it even worse, afaik it's closed source, so no way of knowing what's going on under the hood.

I've been using Fenec from fdroid for a while with duckduckgo a VPN and a DNS switcher God I hope that's enough

I use Qwant from France which denied entering the Five Eyes.
