Wow. Yep. I can't even browse certain subReddits on my phone; it demands that I download the app. No thanks, Reddit. Nice try, but this is why I have a laptop. :)

I am also 100% convinced that most apps are just spyware. We think China's the only one who weaponizes apps. Nah. Everyone does.

Like Vulptex is saying, instead of going to reddit.com, use old.reddit.com, it doesn't nag you to DL the app.

If you use the old reddit it won't do that.

@Vulptex @Musky

Thanks, guys! I just discovered "teddit.net", and man is it easier on the eyes! Beautiful, simple, less horribly colorful.

I'm still using my laptop, though. :)

https://teddit.net
So it's a re-GUI for Reddit?
It would be neat if you could input multiple sites, like also add SaidIt and the many Lemmy instances too.

Yeah, it's the same Reddit content, just less ugly and distracting, and less hard on the eyes.

I've never been pushed to use the app, guess reddit old is better.

That is the main reason any website wants you to use an app....to view their website.
