I've been experimenting on ways to provide proper private communication tools and file sharing for smaller community. I believe we should start focusing on making internet more local by providing an alternative internet route. I hope to find people with similar interest that could collaborate in that matter.
So far, I've been toying with NextCloud on odroid and raspberry pi. I tried to make a local collabora server without success (had trouble with NGINX that I don't know much how it works). Nextcloud is defenitely something that is good, even for very small scale community. Odroid can be hard to manage. The biggest issues I've had was with the wifi module and the armbian installation. I don't remember what was the problem with armbian but I've been able to solve it. I will be working on a backup solution and possibly RocketChat, which integrate Jitsi and NextCloud already.
