"The ruling party is the business party."

He's certainly not alone in believing that.

"So, What?" As the saying goes. I wouldn't know where to begin dismantling that.

The biggest problem with changing that truth is that millions of people's livelihood depends on the very machine that is crushing them. The true volume of consumption is hidden for the most part, inside those container ships and endless lines of freeway trucks. Cut that line and what do you have? Chaos.

Anyone who wants to change the direction of the "ruling party is the business party" has to have an alternative for supporting the people whose wellbeing will collapse if things change. How would you keep that process free of corruption? It's a mess.

That's a good point, and if you think about it there's almost no other way it could grow to such a size than by using this strategy.

I get a certain arid satisfaction from this...at least it's a longer perspective than what to do about the current year.
