And all the big political subs are captured by political interest groups like ShareBlue and Cambridge Analytica.

Reddit's mods are about 70% financially motivated at this point. What's crazy is how it all basically happened independently of the admins (other than them turning a blind eye)

I think there are many more influencer companies.
Correct the record was dominating in 2016, to downplay the criminal acts of Hillary.

CTR turned in to ShareBlue, from what I understand. It was just a re-branding of the same people. I might be wrong on that though, but that was always the impression I had

That's how I remember it.

Thanks. Maybe to avoid law-suits.

Wikipedia says this about the end of CTR:

Super PACs, officially known as "independent expenditure-only committees", are political committees that are legally only allowed to make expenditures that are independent of specific campaigns and which are not coordinated with a candidate or political party. However, Correct the Record says its activities do not fall under this campaign coordination ban restriction, relying on a 2006 Federal Election Commission "Internet exemption" regulation that said that content posted online for free is off limits from regulation. According to FEC rules, online postings do not technically count as campaign expenditures, which allows independent groups to consult with candidates about the content they post on their sites

So maybe you are right.

/r/Movies must be the one of the longest shilled communities on reddit, I don't even remember a time when that sub was organic.

What?! That's crazy! I thought they were on the up and up! I can still trust them as far as politics though right?
