Don't you ban this kind of users and remove their messages ? What do you fix exaclty here ?

I think /u/magnora7 suspends them but this is (currently) publicly invisible. Also their posts get removed from the posted subsaidit.

Okay thanks for the explanation.

Yes this is correct. Their messages don't appear on the site unless the you go directly to the userpage. This is an anti-censorship measure so people can see what's being removed. Also the user is banned from posting any more.

saidit could possibly also show publicly that these users are not able to post any more. I think this would be even more transparent.

That's a good idea, we should do that. /u/d3rr any idea for an easy way to do this? Maybe just a notice at the top of their user page? Perhaps we can just add a direct database read to retrieve the banned status?

If you're talking about our Global Bans system, sure, we could surface that wherever. I think there's a user.is_global_banned property or method that we can call wherever.

I'd try to render it wherever the existing code renders 'deleted', if that works.

Cool, thanks for the tips. I might give it a shot

Their messages don't appear on the site at all unless the you go directly to the userpage. This is an anti-censorship measure so people can see what's being removed. Also the user is banned from posting any more.
