No, that isn't a reason.
I am wondering if saidit even has the NOT obfuscated code.
If saidit built this code with obfuscated code, then reddit has a backdoor into saidit.

Reddit could have put in a back door, but it would be really difficult, and I doubt they're that smart. And reddit's backend runs on Python, not JavaScript.
The real reason is probably something stupid, like how Minecraft still obfuscates their jars even though they release mappings to deobfuscate them.
