It's becoming harder and harder to access many sites without creating an account. Everything is "create an account" or "download the app". They want to be able to track people's browsing, searching, and reading habits, and possibly link it back to an actual ID. It's getting weird.

I think it's the beast system getting ready to come into play. I had a feeling the Democrats would bring on the Antichrist but didn't want to fully believe they were that heartless as the blame was always the Republicans which to be fair there are two types. One the 'old skool' type that care about our nation and the other the 'Globalist' type that are milking off the first type that are not fully aware of the technology changes that have happened. Well at least they WEREN'T aware until Senators and Congressman/women found themselves censored and emails intercepted, etc.

Hopefully this is MAJOR wake up alarm.

Yep. I agree fully. I do think there could be a very close link between this and the Mark. I'm not much into eschatology and I don't follow politics too closely, but the Covid pandemic changed everything. I do think this could be a warm-up for that. It'll have to also involve a sign-off on actual apostasy as a condition, but I think it's coming soon.

We'll see them making it virtually illegal to use the internet without "signing in", digital IDs, and a social credit system. I think we'll see that very soon.

Get ready, pray, try to back off of the internet if possible (as much as possible), and get off of social media.

One of the first sites to do this back in 09 I think was Sodar Island Forums which may not sound like much but it was a very active forum and useful for getting TTTE models for Train Simulator I think the Trainz series as people were doing their own models of the series at the time and lots of fanfiction.etc. But it was creepy the amount of authoritarian required just to even VIEW the damn page and I think they censored the hell out of people.

Confirming this; more and more websites are being redesigned to provide near-zero functionality to visitors who do not have or want an account, and it's creepy as fuck. Also another reason for me to spend less time online. Deviantart being the biggest example that currently springs to mind.

I guess if clued-in people like myself refuse to use a malicious operating system or web browser that has anti-features embedded in it like globally unique identifiers or advertising IDs, then they have to find some other way to track us.

Luckily many of these websites can still be registered for with a disposable email address...

Making people register to post content (mostly) makes sense for accountability's sake, but making people register merely to view/read content which is already on the site is another example of tech companies "grabbing me by the &%$#", as a former president would say, and I am really not a fan of, or amused by that particular modern business trend.

Yep. Something I've noticed, too... you now have the options to "Sign in with Google", "Sign in with Apple", or "Sign in with Facebook". What? So, they're pressuring us to sign in using the three biggest collectors of data and private information out there, companies who keep scanning our everything and amassing huge amounts of info on us.

I don't mind them trying to sell me Nikes. I seriously don't care about that. But I do care about them turning that data over to Flowers By Ingrid, and using that data to punish civilians for wrong think. This is already happening. People have lost their jobs, been fined, been arrested, and gone to jail over social media posts.

I agree that not even allowing people to read or browse without letting Apple, Google, or Meta crawl all over your stats is stupid. How do I know whether or not I want to join something unless I get a sense for what it is?

There's a frontend for Quora called quetre which will let you use the site without an account.
