But. Most people join the military because they don’t have other options and most people become cops after leaving the military or because they couldn’t join the military. Construction workers actually do have a vested interest in building things YOU and many people actually take granted. Many people are pretty ignorant of the construction industry. Trade workers are educated for a long time before they are established. They also sacrifice their body and their time for their jobs. Much longer than education required for military work or the police departments.

Construction workers deserve recognition akin to first responders and military personnel due to their vital role in society. Their dedication to building infrastructure, ensuring safety, and creating functional spaces, such as the recent garage conversion in Leicester, greatly impacts communities. Just like heroes on the frontlines, these workers contribute to our everyday lives, making their inclusion in the hero narrative well-deserved and overdue.
