I've been banned from a bunch of supposedly "free speech" subs here because I simply said things they didn't want to hear even if I knew very well that my opinions were the most logical. In a world where free-speech is the default, people will still ultimately choose the stories/arguments that make them feel good instead of what truly makes the most sense. This is because all people (even men... even white people...) ultimately arrive at conclusions with their emotions. This explains why so many men are anti-feminist and so many white people are pro-racism even when handed the exact same data. The only way to truly allow free-speech is to do what we're doing here which is to segregate. I don't want to see your pro-racism rants and likely you don't want to see my anti-racism rants and that won't change anytime soon so it's best to part ways. True freedom of speech is a pipe dream. All people ultimately want "my freedom of speech". Some kids just aren't meant to play together...
People argue for free speech because they want to influence others but if no one is listening, what is the point?
I think there are moments in people's lives where they are capable of rising above putting emotional fulfillment first but it is uncommon.
