Its skills. Skills is used in the plural form all the time. One of the merriam-webster example sentences is "He has excellent social skills", which is used the same way that "English skills" is used here.

that would make sense if you had only one writing skill, but there are many rules and syntaxes and such within the english language.

      It is spelled grammar.

This sub is called teach you english. There is more to english than just grammar. You must also master phonology, vocabulary, there are different dialects to understand. All BS aside I don't mind helping and you could help teach us chinese or whatever language it is you usually use.

I just thought that would be a good way to get people involved. I don't actually think you're ashamed of your english skill. I just want to help out a fren!

Chinese has something similar with the use of dou (都). 其实汉语也有类似的语法。比如:

            英语有读写的技能。她会读写

            (很抱歉我的母語不是漢語所以語法的不太好)

            her english skills

What he means here is your English reading, writing, and comprehension. However, he didnt capitalize the word "English". English should always be capitalized.

I recommend you ignore him as nothing he says is worth listening to or reading.
