The point is that they could afford not to underpay their employees, but they still do.

What is stopping you/anyone else from outcompeting those corporations, while hiring the workers?

I don't have the time, money, or risk capacity to start a business and even if I did I'd be outcompeted by giant corporations who have money, political influence, predatory business models, and a total lack of scruples. What's your point?

What is a living wage?

Enough to pay for your basic needs and still have enough left over for savings or discretionary.

My point is why don't you/anyone else start/run corporations and pay the employees what you want?

Aren't there any people with time, money, risk capacity etc who want to outcompete the giant corporations who have money, political influence, predatory business models, and a total lack of scruples?

Yes, and they get outcompeted by people who are willing to screw over their employees and consumers to save money.

The way I understand it, is that the people who are willing to screw over their employees and consumers to save money, use those savings on dividends/bonuses to themselves. So if the people with time, money, risk capacity etc who want to outcompete the giant corporations who have money etc, does not screw over their employees and consumers to save money, by not paying dividends/bonuses to themselves. They will afford to cut prices and not screw over their employees, and thereby outcompete the ones who do pay themselves dividends/bonuses?

Well that hasn't happened, has it? The corporations still exist and they still underpay their workers and take advantage of their consumers.

So why don't the idealists do it?

You've asked me this multiple times already. If they could, they would, but they can't. What's your point?

Why can't they?

I'm not answering this question again, just google it and then you can refresh the page as many times as you need to.
