Yeah I enjoy the tech articles! Gives this place a more hackernews like feel, which I enjoy. I think a lot of people here are interested in stuff like linux and programming and tech security

Agreed - and I think posts like his make Saidit a more informative place

(even if I don't agree with the anti-vax drama)

(Always pushing your agenda.)

[–]iDontShift 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (19 children)

isn't everyone? lol

whatever your opinion, is your agenda.

the only question, that to me matters..

are paid to have your opinion?

well, then there is also which world do you believe in? spirit or pure materialistic?

that then sways your 'opinion' .. and most don't really have one.. the more you think about it.

we don't have a choice other than .. which we choose to believe in ..

once you choose to believe in God and see how things can change via that Faith.

I haven't seen the same hold true for the other view. nobody leaves God that sees.

True true true. Everyone has their opinion.

While I agree it's important to know if someone is paid to have their opinion (I am not paid for my opinions, though that would be helpful), right or wrong or grey, even MORE important is whether it harms people.

It's profoundly clear the establishment, Bill Gates, etc is not only exploitative, they aim to thin the herd of sheeple by a huge amount, regardless of the suffering inflicted - in part by lockdown, vaccines, food crises, inflation, etc etc etc.

/u/socks is not only pro-vaxx he's also pro-authoritarian - 2 of the most harmful stances possible, IMO. Might as well be a pro-war and pro-censorship propagandist to make it a complete set.

I don't need to believe in the fantasy myth of God or ANY authority, jealous of other fantasies, all powerful but not caring or caring and impotent to help. I can still appreciate many good moral and ethical teachings of Christ, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Socrates, Confucius, Diogenes, Mark Twain, Gore Vidal, etc etc etc.

I am my own ultimate authority, for better and worse. That does not make me immoral.

[–]iDontShift 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (12 children)

i don't see God as being an authority, but the provider of all things, the facilitator of life itself.

we live within the Body of God. knowing this can lead to understandings of our changing thoughts/ideas and how they are represented in the mind.. matters. all the words you speak show your allegiance to one idea or another.

ultimately, the materialistic mind can be proven to be just that.

who do you get mad at?

who do you discuss things with?

who is talking to who?

if you can get mad at yourself, perhaps there are two of you.. (this is Eckhart Tolle's way of describing it)

in meditation I found myself separated from my mind .. i felt it fall asleep and (i) was still awake.

doesn't make you immoral, but to me.. missing the bigger picture.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

This is excellent.

Eckhart Tolle's approach reminds me somewhat of Paul Tillich approach (as I know the latter, but not the former)

As I look them up, I see that they actually seem to have similar approaches to God as 'Being-Itself'

(Head's up to /u/Jesus)

It's existentialism and called the Universe that we live in. Not God or any woo. The "spirit" and spiritualism is where mind and body interface, often conflicting or confusing. There's no need to make up nonsense to fill in the gaps. Reason and logic and admissions that there may be gaps are all that's necessary.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Have a look at Eckhart Tolle's and Paul Tillich's approaches if you are curious. This ain't existentialism in the post-Nietzschean sense

(...though I think Nietzsche would have found it interesting)

Whereas:

Nietzsche is the more important forerunner of the Existentialist courage to be as oneself.

Tillich describes the individual who has self-affirmed in this way: “He mediates the powers of being which are concentrated in him. He has them within himself in knowledge…. He directs the course of his life”

a world without 'Good' being the core of all living things... just try and imagine it.

now all violence is a form of insanity amongst animals. they get hungry, the hunger drives them to kill. after the kill, the gazelles relax as the lions eat. that is the way of things.

i professed, as a test, that there are no accidents.

i still hold this is true.

since I've stepped into a life with God, I've had significantly less trouble and more joy expanding, while some regress as those not able to stand the light of your presence.

whatever, I can't convince anyone of anything that won't take it upon themselves to find out.

i say chaos can exist within divine perfection..

but divine perfection cannot exist within chaos ..

i don't see chaos. i see idiots misusing.. not using.. not understanding.. and I see snake oil sales men.. selling fear.. they change their tune when we get bored of their current stick. but always away from God they point.

catholic church doesn't care about your state of mind.

but to me, that is the most important matter.

enjoy thinking about these things, if good comes from it, that'd be nice. if not, fuck it.

peace out.

Brillaint points.

I might note that I agree with Pope Francis on many things, though I am not Catholic.

Fuck God. Fuck government. Fuck "authority".

My strongest recommendation: Mark Passio's Natural Law lecture is 3 hours long. If there's a shorter half hour summary I'd point you to that.

God is not human, but spirit. We can only have an interpersonal relationship with God. He provides, we show our faith and lead our lives in the way his Son preached. Tone down the carnal mind and your materialist ego, that is what God wants all of us to do.

[–]iDontShift 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

God is not human, but spirit

so you set yourself apart of God? silly .. God is all things, the spirit is how we see it here, but we all see God in your form, my form and the bird outside. all things. everything. not a single thing not. the NOT was created by God but is nothing but an illusion. we only see the not here, but it disappears in the absolute.. in the light of Truth.

We can only have an interpersonal relationship with God.

so that means it doesn't actually effect the outside world? because that is the only reason I can see you said this about my comment.

He provides

yes

we show our faith

we show our faith by how we react to events.

lead our lives in the way his Son preached.

do you?

all the things I do you can do and more - Jesus

did you know 'we' made Jesus 'son of God' at the council of nicaea? before that there was a rift, half thought he was son of God, others thought he was a man. the 'son of God' .. won .. thanks to a politician that saw which was easier to control.

Tone down the carnal mind and your materialist ego

i advocate meditation. i dunno what you are after in your idea of materialistic ego. I have few wants, desires.. beyond peace and love for the world.

that is what God wants all of us to do.

God wants us to wake up to the reality as it is ..

and stop sleeping and pretending we are less than we are.

which is what you appear to be advocating..

[–]Jesus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

God is the creator of all things and told us if you do not hate this world the love of teh father is not inyou. Knowing God comes through following Christ.I do not believe in God, I know Him.

[–]iDontShift 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

yet you hate this world.

are you seriously thinking God sent us to this world to hate it?

we have free choice. you think God says.. make this choice..

what kind of free choice is that?

and God, being all love, says hate the world?

you may 'no' God, but I Love God.

people think God chooses them.. well yes, we are all chosen by God.. you must choose yourself, you must believe in yourself..

and as Jesus says something like 'if you cannot believe in yourself, then believe in me, and thru me you will be saved.'

and tho I don't believe in the only son.. it is said God 'so Loved the world that he gave his only son'

your view makes you retract, mine tells you to expand, but in the right way, expressing God thru you.

be a conduit for God, not a preacher of a paper 'god' ..

pro-authoritarian

This the OPPOSITE of my approach

(It's insane that anyone would think of my anti-right-wing comments as pro-authoritarian, and for you - of all people - to think it.)

[–]JasonCarswellMental Orgy 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Bullshit.

Guess what chucklehead, the Democrats are currently even more authoritarian than the Republicans these days.

Left and Right are both wings of the War Hawk Party of the ruling class. Supporting either is supporting authoritarian globalist Zionist totalitarianism.

Wake the flock up.

He brings so much tech informative, non-political content. He posts so much I would think he was a bot if he didn't chime in with a few comments here and there.

I was reading something he posted and kinda went down a Linux hole, spent half an hour reading about it until I realized I don't care about linux. People been saying the same thing for 20 years.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

    LOL

Sometimes - because of this kind of interesting reading material - I try to avoid the computer altogether

I got burned out on paying attention to tech developments and software dev a long time ago. I just use my phone now.

20 years ago they said switch to Linux, it's easy and faster. But it's a huge pain in the ass. Good luck when you got no drivers for your hardware or there's no ports for software you need. Today it's still the same damned thing.
