    "White" just means an ethnic native of Europe. European groups spanning from Meds to Nords are white. I don't think Central Asian caucasian subgroups have ever been considered racially white, even if they're genetic cousins to Europeans.

    If I remember correctly, Persians were considered white at one time, but not Arabs.

    edit: It looks like Arabs are considered white with the U.S. Census Bureau.

    The US census bureau is slowly defining more and more ethnicities as "white" to hide the declining European-American population. I wouldn't take them as an official source on race realism.

    Also, Aryans (persians, high-caste indians) are considered the closest relatives to modern Europeans in central Asia.     Cool information. Maybe Persians were the blending of many ethnicities at the crossroads of the Silk Road, so they can fall on either side of the fence. As modern societal policies seem to place POC higher in the caste system, I think it actually keeps them down. It makes society treat them as incompetent and not as capable as "whites", so much so that they need help or hand-outs.

    To be fair, Skin color isn't a race thing either, it's just Melanin pigment in the skin.

    100'000 years ago, you could have argue there were homo erectus with homosapiens coexisting. But that time is long passed.

    Today it's more about communism hiding under the ''concept'' of ''people of color'' and when you look at that picture, that islamic dude has color in his skin. The only people who lack coloration in their skin are Albinos people.

    The entire post modernist ''racism'' is just Communist vs none communist being rebranded as melanin Ethnicity based hatred.

    That, and admixture from ancestors. High five, I guess, if you're 100% European?(Hypothetical non-person) A lot of us aren't, but no one cares about that. It's solely based on appearances because of the whole "white passing" thing garnering the privileges of skin color. I don't want to play too hard on the topics of privilege, mostly because I don't really want to spend time being irritated, misunderstood or confused when I'm fucking off on the internet in my fragments of spare time.

    Little pockets anywhere between 5-15 minutes during the day, or much longer if it's late in the evenings.

    You're retired though, you've got the gift of free time now. Do you enroll in active learning activities or anything to keep sane, or are you able to deal with free time well?

    What I don't deal well with is tabs, like this one for your comment, lurking among the other 130+.

    It would be helpful to have more structured time (or even at all), but it's more of a question of what I'm in the mood for. I'm not sure how sane I'm remaining, but I browse the internet, comment, game, or do other stuff as it comes up.

    My splint/wrap comes off my left arm tomorrow, so can hopefully get some gardening going. Still have hot peppers that overwintered, and will be growing some more.

    Even the "white" peoples of Europe didn't coexist under a common "race" in centuries past. It was more of tribal environment. Religion mattered more than skin color.

    More efficient tool of control when you're conquering areas to and fro. You can still conscript people to be your soldiers, workers, whatever, if they look different. Using a raceless religion as a backdrop (or foredrop, if that's a word) to collect everyone you've conquered under your petticoat and control them is far more effective.

        Those memes lack historical context. During the Ottoman era, the Ottomans were recognizing themselves as muslims, as the rest were considered slaves and not citizens. There were differentiations in certain areas but that was the main idea.

        So basically by becoming muslim you had to forgo other concepts of identity, as being muslim was considered more than enough.
