What am I gonna do for entertainment now that I can't read his daily manic 30,000 word essays on his "brilliant" ideas and how everyone who disagrees with them is a shill? Truly a great tragedy of our times.

Jason Carswell and I both use our actual names.

We're probably related, or something.

I've always liked his tenacity... however it has always bothered me greatly that he and others insist on breaking the first rule of the internet.

I saw that concert live. The band joked nobody at their show was old enough to drink. We were but they had a point.

Here's to you Jas, see ya in... 5 days. Inbox might not be so dead then.

Why are the nazis still messing with shit here, Voat is back and one big white nationalist forum.

Here's to Bobbo too, another lost regular but for her I think permanently.

Saidit is noticeably quieter without Bob and Jason.

Bob posted about me on s/retards and I still don't think she should be banned. I think she's too sympathetic to the ironleft but pretty sure that shouldn't be a bannable offense. They piss me off but if they weren't such dicks I'd support them too for the sake of free speech, but imo threatening violence is inexcusable. And before that they wanted reparations, which was silly.

What's the point of a well behaved forum if nobody is saying anything.

    Their ban is probably permanent

I will protest. I like talking to Bob. Stop banning people I talk to ffs. I mean the "royal you," I know you didn't personally ban anyone this time.

I don't believe that was the reason for the ban, but I'd have to ask Magnora.

      It wasn't.

It really does say so'm about you that your friends constantly break the rules.

It says I like varied and interesting people who don't necessarily agree with me. Who wants an echo chamber.

You also like alcohol and pornography; it is only rational to assume you'd be attracted to other such demons!

I love alcohol and pornography. Your puritanical ways are not better.

There's a difference between having a disagreement and breaking the rules. I've had disagreements with u/Jesus a few times, but he's never gone to such lows as Bob had on a regular basis. Furthermore, he's never — to my knowledge — reposted the removed comments of a previously-banned user.

I love alcohol and pornography. Your puritanical ways are not better.

The root of "puritanical" it "pure"; I believe purity to be the greatest of virtues — supported by the facts: drunks and porn addicts are more likely to commit crimes, especially sexual crimes, than those of us who subscribe to temperance. Furthermore, the possessed have lower levels of intelligence.

Eighteen is the age of majority in the United States. I don't know about your country, but considering how SaidIt is based in the US: it should use our age of majority, not yours. Foreigners should stop telling us how to run our country.

I mean, I'm not addicted to alcohol (far from it), and somewhat against pornography and enjoy talking to Bob. I enjoy following your material and exchanges as well. She's aggressive, but the two of you just have it out for one another-- despite whoever started what. Y'all just don't need to mention or interact with one another at all. Come on though, you can have conversations with people and consider them to be friends without having to respect ways that they behave under conditions outside of your control and be damned to behave similarly.

The last month has been an descent into some crazy shit over s/all, just in general with a ton of folks. Maybe it's always been going on and I didn't see it before, but I don't think so.

I had them blocked, which is why I didn't know they where banned until Musky brought it up. Magnora banned Bob because they where breaking the rules on a daily basis ever since their account was made — and because they where literally reposting the removed comments of a user who's been banned hundreds of times for, among other things: using fake accounts to get their posts on the front page (which u/bobbobbybob had also been doing).

The last month has been an descent into some crazy shit over s/all

Everything on the front page is fake. LXXXVIII has been using alt accounts to pick and choose what shows up — admitting to such on multiple occasions. That's why I mostly just pay attention to new instead of hot.

            [–]Comatoast 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (59 children)

I saw the conversation between the two of them and was under the impression that Bob left on her own after getting pissed, and Mag7 just kinda remarking with a general "Don't let the door hit ya" sort of comment.

I know she reposted some of the content, and that can be seen as being antagonistic, but she was genuinely pissed about some of the topics of conversation that the Roman numerals crew posted being banned because of wanting to discuss it. I don't think she's a shill, she's just hot headed and pissy about things. I don't see the account creation or anything that you mention, wouldn't know about it outside of your mention, so I'm not sure what's going on there.

            [–][deleted] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (58 children)

That seems to be what happened, but Musky said they where also banned, I checked, and it was true.

she was genuinely pissed about some of the topics of conversation that the Roman numerals crew posted being banned because of wanting to discuss it.

            Because they're the same person.

They're empty accounts that just exist to vote on content. It's hard to find them, even for admins.

Here's a screenshot of a bunch we found a few days ago. We can see what they voted on: here's a screenshot of one of these alts voting for u/bobbobbybob's posts, extended here. (I had to scroll down a bit since he votes on a lot of spam.)

Wait, do you mean bobbobbybob? I liked bob. This is going to make saidit a worse place. Too much enforced conformity drives away the interesting people, and attracts the drones.

So we're not going to be able to continue this discussion.

interesting. I worked with one of their daughters. i think that is vague enough to keep me anon still.

Did you ever work through John Lilly's metaprogramming / human biocomputer stuff? There are mechanisms to become aware of the manipulation of your ego layers.

Is there something happening behind the scenes that's causing all these sites to suicide?

And I had just invited some people from the "other" censorship and banning site to come here... :(

            [–][deleted] 10 insightful - 4 fun10 insightful - 3 fun11 insightful - 4 fun -  (11 children)

            Wait, do you mean bobbobbybob?

            Yes; Bob the troll.

This is going to make saidit a worse place.

Burying free speech beneath a mountain of trolls and bots will make SaidIt a worse place, not cleansing it of filth. If you prefer 4chan: go to 4chan! Don't try to make SaidIt into an equally idiotic and demonic clone.

Too much enforced conformity drives away the interesting people, and attracts the drones.

There is no "enforced conformity", merely enforced standards — and I honestly wouldn't even take it that far; the Pyramid of Debate is rarely enforced other than removing blatant threats of violence.

I assume your definition of "interesting" includes the iron left, which uses fake votes to get their posts onto the front page, and the anti-American bot u/bobbobbybob so vehemently defended, that creates hundreds of accounts to spam gibberish on random posts.

[–]NodeThis is my flair. There are many like it, but this one is mine. 9 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 1 fun10 insightful - 2 fun -  (10 children)

I assume your definition of "interesting" includes the iron left,

Why would you assume that? Are you saying u/bobbobbybob was behind whatever that was? See my quote above for an example of my interaction with bob. I did over an hour of research to reply to that comment, but our discussion has apparently been cut off. That's a little disappointing to me, and at least one other user who had been following the discussion.

Don't try to make SaidIt into an equally idiotic and demonic clone.

Banning a troll is different from banning a user with welcome interactions across the community. I get that there's a troll and adware problem, but it's disappointing to see saidit begin attacking users in the exact autoimmune error the troll hoped to provoke.

            https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/saidit.net

I did not realize saidit had been in freefall. WTF happened on March 21 to pop back up like that? Troll traffic? (🇮🇳 India 23.6%) But censorship kills a site, as that downward trend seems to show. :(

            [–][deleted] 8 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

Why would you assume that? Are you saying u/bobbobbybob was behind whatever that was?

I've suspected for months that he was behind it. His posts where being consistently voted on by LXXXVIII since it began, which was what caught my attention. His behavior is consistent with loki's alts: picking fights, making up crazy lies about people, and doing anything to drag discussion down the Pyramid of Debate.

This was all but confirmed when he began reposting removed comments and posts, defending LXXXVIII in a lengthy argument, and demanding Magnora unban them and put s/ironleft back on all. I am of the opinion that u/bobbobbybob and u/loki88 are the same person.

Banning a troll is different from banning a user with welcome interactions across the community.

u/bobbobbybob was a troll, consistently defended other trolls, and had a history of breaking the rules. It doesn't matter that astroturfers welcomed them — it matters that they broke the rules.

it's disappointing to see saidit begin attacking users in the exact autoimmune error the troll hoped to provoke.

u/bobbobbybob wanted to be banned — Magnora told me he believed the entire purpose of this account was to get people like you on his side, break the rules in an obvious manner, get banned, and spark drama; I agree with him.

WTF happened on March 21 to pop back up like that? Troll traffic? (🇮🇳 India 23.6%)

Yes, we get a lot of ad bots from India — and u/bobbobbybob got mad at me for banning them. Odd that Japan ranks number one and the US doesn't even get twenty percent.

But censorship kills a site, as that downward trend seems to show. :(

There's a major difference between censoring opinions you don't like and banning people for breaking the rules. u/Jesus has some opinions I don't like, but he's never acted like Bob — which explains why one of them is banned and the other is not. u/Jesus was the one who originally told me he thought Bob was an Israeli agent.

Maybe SaidIt's on a downward trend because, I don't know, our website is being actively suppressed by the big tech cartel? Maybe, just maybe: Reddit shadow-banning SaidIt links and Google suppressing our website in their search results has a negative impact on the site.

            [–]Jesus 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It has no impact, other than supressing the amount of people who come here. What does effect this website is bots and shills. Where reddit and mainstream consenus used the bot issue to suppress and censor, i.e., scapegoat those they deemed dissident or against the status quo, particularly when it came to issues on Israel and Jews; saidit has the inverse of that problem. That is, figuring out how to ban users that are only here to cause trouble for corporate and status quo interests.

[–]NodeThis is my flair. There are many like it, but this one is mine. 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

break the rules in an obvious manner, get banned,

I saw his exchange with you in that "I'll do better" post, but otherwise just saw him in random comments. Didn't see the obvious rule breaking. Maybe he (she?) got me to like them by having pretty decent exchanges.

I saw bobby's new account on another site, that was made the day of the rage quit, and it's very unlikely they're the same as loki.

Just looking for a site to share interesting news that isn't managed by insane admins. Saidit was good for a bit, but got a tranny admin and everything turned to shit in about 2 weeks. I rage deleted my password to end my account forever, but couldn't even log back in to see if the admins [removed] my goodbye post because the admin added me to a cloudflare firewall ban list (getting most of the south island of NZ in the process). lel.

anyway. That's a dramatic intro. in reality i'm a kiwi that's comfy watching the world burning that likes to share interesting stuff.

The ironic part is I was deleting my account there the same day due to petty admins who bullied innocent users. Not to go into that drama, but they act like kids. Anyway, last I heard after inquiring of a possible return was:

nah, I keep my word. The admin there has gone nuts, so i'm out. I'm not providing content to a site that bans me for transphobia.

            https://s01.geekpic.net/di-1M7AQZ.png

because trannies ARE fucked int he head and that's no lie.

taking the time to do more stuff int he real world instead.

I'd be surprised if he returned.

As for the ad bots and spammers, I keep seeing a TON of brand new accounts posting random links. Many of the links are 'okay', but what is the deal with all those new accounts posting them?

M7 is saying that's a fake screenshot, and there are more floating around. Not sure what part of the comment thread this is in, but Musky has just been banned over one of those fake screenshots. I suspect the troll has stirred all of this up, and that Musky just got caught up in it.

The drama level seems to be spiking lately. Really hope 'people' can just calm down and take it a bit easy.

            [–][deleted] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

The problem is - OF COURSE M7 WOULD SAY THAT. I mean, if it is real, he'll say that, and if it's fake, he'll say that. So yeah. Doesn't prove anything.

And frankly if M7 is going to actually succeed in making us believe the screenshot is fake, then the first thing he should have done is NOT ban AM but instead tell him, hey that's fake, please remove it because whoever sent you this is trying to stir up trouble. AM is a good citizen, I am sure he would comply, in the right circumstances.

M7 banning outright looks more like censorship of the truth than one respected citizen repeating a lie once and getting the boot. That is just extreme. And with Bob gone... Yeah I'm thinking they got to M7. Who was it, the CIA? Mossad? Who got to you, Magnora7?

            [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Didn't see the obvious rule breaking.

They literally reposted removed comments and posts to evade u/loki88's ban.

it's very unlikely they're the same as loki.

Considering the evidence: I think it's likely they're the same person — and if they aren't: it's hard to argue u/bobbobbybob and u/loki88 weren't working together.

As for the ad bots and spammers, I keep seeing a TON of brand new accounts posting random links.

It's loki88; he likes to make a bunch of accounts to post ads and then votes on them with a bunch of blank accounts. It's obvious it's him if we check the IP logs. Not all of them are his, but I know for a fact he's responsible for some of them.

u/friday3 is the anti-American bot u/bobbobbybob got mad at us for banning. It posts articles to gain karma so it can spam copy-pastes about how terrible America is on random posts. I kept the articles but removed the comments, which is what Magnora told me to do when I see it.

Pick fights with everyone / Call everyone names as their sole argument / drag discussion down the Pyramid of Debate / pick fights with everyone

I'll take Things We've All Done for $200, Alex. I've been called few names by you and I'm no saint either. We aspire to the PoD, nobody here is perfect. Lol, we can be pod people.

Complain about s/ironleft being taken off of s/all for breaking the mod rules

Me and u/socks are starting a new sub, s/shitpostnews that got taken off s/all and I think it was cause we were astroturfed by the nazis. They just do that, we don't want it. It's in it's infancy but I see a lot of potential for calling out news sources, main stream and otherwise, for truly shit posts. It's a target rich environment.

            [–][deleted] 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (16 children)

I've been called few names by you and I'm no saint either.

There's a major difference between occasionally labelling someone appropriately, and throwing the word "retard" at everyone when you're unable to formulate a rational counter-argument.

I called you a jack-ass douchebag once, because you where being a jack-ass; Bob calls someone a retard because that's exactly what they are not.

Me and u/socks are starting a new sub, s/shitpostnews that got taken off s/all and I think it was cause we were astroturfed by the nazis.

I personally find it to be of some use, but would recommend more information about each news source rather than just a label.

I'm not sure why it was removed from all, but it's best not to fight with Magnora over it (u/socks) that's a pretty easy way to piss him off — it's exactly what the ironleft folks did before they got banned. I will note, however, that they where censoring posts, which is against the moderator rules; Jason would back me up on this one if he was here, because it was his post.

You called me a douchebag too.

Ah, yes, that's what I meant. Maybe I called you a jack-ass too, but that wasn't the case I was referring to.

My point is not that you once called me a name and I'm mad about it, but that we ALL get upset and talk shit sometimes.

The keyword is "sometimes"; Bob called everyone a "retard" nearly all the time.

              I'm not looking to fight.

That was directed at u/socks, not you; I checked the mod log.

But anything that doesn't make it to s/all is hardly worth doing since we all browse by s/all.

I do realize that, but I would like to point out that I personally browse only the subs I'm subscribed to. I did subscribe to s/shitpostnews. By the way, I just thought of this: the sub's title and logo should be "The Shit Post", like the "Washington Post", "New York Post", etc.

Thank you for these suggestions. /s/shitpostnews is meant to be a place for more information about the propaganda websites. I'll see how much of this we can take on board. M7 hasn't mentioned anything to us. He toggles the r/all option, but I don't know why.

That’s different though, TAM. I like you, but you have to act more professional when it comes to things like that (joking is one thing, but in a serious conversation you can’t sink down to another user’s level; you’re the one who’s supposed to keep the peace).

Bob is just a regular user. So is AM. You however are an admin that represents SaidIt. You can’t sink to the level of a regular user just because they said or did what they did. Just clear things up factually and move on, or remove whatever content violates SaidIt’s rules and if someone asks, cite the rule and explain it’s no hard feelings, it’s as simple as that.

Just my 2 cents, I think it’d make your life here on SaidIt a lot more easier, especially as an admin.

TAM has admitted to only being 18.

Don't try to pretend like my age is some big scandal. I didn't do anything wrong by being born eighteen years ago, but you're treating it like I "admitted" to some crime. I've been open that I'm eighteen since I made my account; it's public knowledge.

Also, don't try to pretend like I ain't an adult, because eighteen is the age of majority in the United States — I don't know about your country, but in my country: I'm a legal adult, and since SaidIt's based out of the US: I feel as if we should use the American age of majority.

Maybe that's because, I don't know, our website is being actively suppressed by the big tech cartel? Maybe, just maybe: Reddit shadow-banning SaidIt links and Google suppressing our website in their search results has a negative impact on the site.

Also, don't try to pretend like I ain't an adult,

I'm not saying it's your 'fault'. It's just that people don't become real adults until somewhere between 30 and 45, on average. Many never do. And of course that's a matter of perspective. The classic is the 5 year old talking about "when I was little". Sure, you or a 30 year old probably do see yourselves as an adult. 'IMO', there's a certain body of experience required to fill that empty vessel before that technically legal classification actually becomes the case.

Well, that probably sounds fairly condescending. lol

That website says that "Adult" (porn) is the fourth-largest category on SaidIt. LOL

It does put the USA on top in this one, with India nowhere to be found — which I find odd with how much spam we get from there. It does make sense that Australia is third place, since we get a lot of spam from there too.

It also shows our rankings going up in the US and for news, while declining worldwide. That doesn't really align with the narrative that SaidIt is dying because Magnora got rid of the iron left.

              [–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Me and Musky are gon'o bicker — that's just how it is. He made me upset, but it ain't like I hate him. We've known each other a good while, so it is different from calling complete strangers names — especially when my choice of words are much more tame. Wow, I called someone a mild name because they kept trying to bring up dead drama — crucify me!

Bob is just a regular user.

Bob was a regular troll who broke the rules on a daily basis. You don't get a free "get out of jail" card when your account age exceeds a certain thresh-hold — but if that's how you think it should be: talk to Magnora about it; he's not very receptive, though.

You however are an admin that represents SaidIt.

I'm still entitled to my opinion that Musky was being a jerk to me. I'm a human being with feelings too, yo'know? I ain't just some robot who's supposed to never tell anyone any of my opinions.

You can’t sink to the level of a regular user just because they said or did what they did.

I've never sank to anyone else's level. You don't see me going around calling everyone "retards", spamming unrelated comments on random posts, making fake accounts to get my own posts on the front-page, or trying to push the boundaries of what Magnora considers pornography.

I called my friend a mild name because he upset me — how is that the same as what u/bobbobbybob and the other LXXXVIII assets have been doing?

Just clear things up factually and move on, or remove whatever content violates SaidIt’s rules and if someone asks, cite the rule and explain it’s no hard feelings, it’s as simple as that.

I only remove ads, bots, and alt accounts of users Magnora's already banned. I don't know if you're trying to say I banned u/bobbobbybob, but I didn't.

I also give a lot of opinions people don't like, but ain't that the whole point of SaidIt?

No, but they wouldn't make it that easy now, would they? I don't see why it makes sense that their trolls would be restricted to such countries in the first place; apart from Russia, these countries tend to hire most of their agents from foreign countries — at least that's my impression.

              [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 5 fun2 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 5 fun -  (17 children)

Yes - Russian troll farms are well known, and have been referred to a number of times by agencies of the US government, as well as in the news media. Israel troll farms are known, and there are videos inside IDF troll farms where they discuss their work as influencers for Israel. One sees their work on Reddit's Worldnews and other places. There are shills for the Modi government (India) but it seems they act independently. China troll farms are known for a long list of government projects, including hacking, spying, influencing &c; similar to Russian hacker groups. North Korea has troll farms and hackers. I just wondered if Saidit admins had any sense of the signatures of the troll farms or influencers from these countries. I've not seen evidence, but who knows.

                  Israel troll farms are known

Oh, huh, I didn't know that. I thought they always just hired people from other countries.

China troll farms are known for a long list of government projects, including hacking, spying, influencing &c; similar to Russian hacker groups.

Those aren't really troll farms, they're espionage operations.

I just wondered if Saidit admins had any sense of the signatures of the troll farms or influencers from these countries.

It's obvious which countries are targeting us — at least in the case of the illegitimate government in Beijing — but not so obvious whether or not they outsource their psyop or keep it in-house. It doesn't make a difference either way, so trying to figure out is a waste of time.

Looks like everything is removed when I click that link. This site has been going downhill for awhile. People say "make the site what you want" blah blah blah, but these people who are active it seems like just cause they have different viewpoints they are getting singled out. Jason was an active dude, granted his stuff wasn't always what I agreed with or thought relevant but the point is he was trying. Its sad to see a "free speech" website being so heavily moderated at this point. And honestly this crap is boring it's like a fake TV drama or some shit. Like don't you people have lives outside this website? This crap is getting lame. The only things on the front page are adds and products. There is hardly even any relevant info on this site anymore it's all spam and you can dudes who are posting original content? It's laughable. This comment isn't specifically for you cqtz or anything, just venting.

Honestly don't care for the specific stuff like this bores me to death. The amount of moderation on this "free speech" website has gotten to old reddit levels which is sad to see. And again it's boring. This fake drama TV show that is playing out between certain people and moderators is like watching preschoolers fight over naughty words being said in a classroom. Its sad.

Nutz... It sure didn't take long for saidit to fall into the thin skinned morass that the current reddit suffers from (compared to the original reddit of pre-2008). I've said many times and will continue to say that the whole lack of a down vote thing along without being able to hide posts/comments below a user set level is retarded and ignores what made reddit great back in the first few years.

Expected of course. Magnora7 doesn't have an understanding of self-policing systems.

Bots can vote. In 2008, bots used to be less common, less malicious.

Only people we trust should be able to police our content.

Some sites have set up a system where new accounts have to earn rights and privileges by interacting with the user base.

A good bot can still advance to voting and posting rights, but it takes days or weeks instead of one minute.

                  [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

100 new good bots every day, all supporting each other.

Until they earn, say, 10 comment upvotes, they have no voting rights. And their daily comments are limited too. These restrictions can be adjusted to fit the threat.

This would hardly affect legitimate users at all.

                  [–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Bots can repost popular comments from other sites, gather upvotes from previous waves.

This would hardly affect legitimate users at all.

Once the infiltration is finished, all legitimate users have to follow the line or be expelled.

[–]NodeThis is my flair. There are many like it, but this one is mine. 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That's what's happening now, but no, once legitimate users make it past the initial troll filter, they would have full rights.

Not sure how to keep it from turning into voat.xyz, and am glad that's not my problem. Maybe this clusterfuck will help me get back to all those games I've been ignoring.

                  have full rights

A system where downvotes simply rank the content and do nothing to the poster would be like reddit without crazy jannies. Yes, everything political and profitable is doomed to be controlled by bad agents, but at least regular people can speak.

                  past the initial troll filter

A filter capable of keeping especially dumb kids off the site may seem like a good thing, but it will annoy regular users. And those kids could always just buy an account.

[–]NodeThis is my flair. There are many like it, but this one is mine. 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I wouldn't be annoyed if users below 110 IQ were filtered out here, but I also use those other sites where retardation reigns. (although use less and less) Again, I'm glad it's not my problem to solve. Maybe it can't be solved.

Magnora7 doesn't have an understanding of self-policing systems.

I think everyone here realizes there are benefits from a down vote system. There is merit to doing it this way too. There's pros and cons to both systems. I've come to like it personally, although there are times I really wish I could downvote something.

Just want to say whatever the specifics the amount of moderation and the amount of posts/talk/fighting about moderation, people being banned, etc., Is boring and sad to see from a "free speech" website. I mean isn't the title of the website "say what youthink" or w.e? It's laughable.
