Hi. A lot of you probably noticed my demodding. I just wanted to properly apologize to the site as a whole. The recent behind my de-modding were due to me using alts to upvote my own posts. I admit I've been doing this for the past month more or less.

I'm not particularly interested in Karma farming or the attention by itself, It was just a case of me being a control freak. /u/d3rr is right in the sense that I'm not fit to be a mod because I have no intentions of being neutral.

Although I do apologize for using such tactics, I have no intentions of remaining neutral when it comes to defending my views regardless. There's just so much info out there that can only be considered degeneracy in my eyes that only forcing one's authority somehow could put a stop to it.

Either way, I'm really sorry for hurting everyone's trust with this event and I hope we can still get along in the future.

Vote manipulation is probably good for the site, I was thinking of making a post asking people to upvote the shit out of things just for the optics. And I don't begrudge internet points.

Not to justify your actions, but to be fair, most of the votes on this site are fraudulent to begin with. It was a big problem when I was an admin, and I don't think it's got no better since I quit. The iron left crackhead, for example, made literally hundreds of alt accounts to vote on his own posts... It's way too easy to make an alt account, and a VPN keeps bans from being effective. I don't trust the votes and almost always browse new.

I believe you. A lot of my own votes are fraudulent, as many of the posts and comments I upvote are not actually insightful - I just like the user or the comment...

I double upvote almost everything. I don't consider that fraudulent because they're not insightful or fun. I consider it support. And for lack of flags to indicate what I've already seen, it's what I use. When I first came here I was very selective about it as if it mattered - but people can't even be bothered to post in the proper subs, so I don't give a fuck. Get me a team of coders with a new forum and I'd organize the fuck out of that shit. I don't vote for STABs and I omit votes on stuff I disagree with or think is stupid. I very rarely vote on content I haven't seen usually because I was going to view it but it slipped by or I'd already seen it.

It's good to check the link before voting. Just a bit ago I clicked on that "buy our rootceller" scam, where the link pretends to be nuke target map of the US.

The map was too small, so you 'had to' click on the link to see the details. But the page rapidly switches to the rootceller push so you'll have a place to be safe. I watched a lot of the video a while back, as it had a really good technique for keeping you hooked. Asides about grandfathers rootceller, how it smelled, and all the canned foods on the shelves... I think the product they ultimately get to is some kind of book with rootceller plans, maybe "access to their site with videos". If you're into marketing, it's kind of fascinating to watch and feel their hooks digging into you.

In essence, it’s a very comprehensive guide, an effective blueprint, to build an EMP resistant cellar. You can build it under your house or in your backyard!

The concept itself is good prep for anything going wrong in society, weather disasters, and such. The initial marketing is pretty deceptive, but that link is just the video page, which is just a tiny fraction of the marketing page.

Just watched a minute or so again. It's funny how compelling it is. I'm practically ready to start building my own!

It's very easy to spend a million buckaroos. That's less than the average house costs. Even a tiny 328 square foot house just sold for over a million.

Can't sell stuff your ex latched onto. She ended up with the 20 ocean view acres on a hilltop, with redwoods and meadows. The last November I was there, a walk over to the woods by my office cabin, which became known as Sector 2, yielded a bit over 30 pounds of Chanterelles.

But if you did bug out, you'd almost 100% be guaranteed to end up in a place where it freezes, gets over 80F in the summer, or both. Might as well be living in HELL at that point. Have to admit, I'm a bit biased against living in places that suck. (because I've lived in them) 😎

'most' is an exaggeration, 'some' is fair. this very post is proof that vote manipulation is detected and acted upon. we had to develop our own tools over time, which TAM did not fully have access to or training on.

I don't code. I tried to help organize feature wish lists and stuff, but maybe I should learn, though that's a bunch of rabbit holes I've avoided. I'd rather try to learn Linux again, again. And/or organize stuff that may have wider and/or local impact with the limited skills I already have.

That's not really strong proof. It's simply circumstantial evidence.

I often see divergent results when I post two or more. I may even boost it with fun for an hour or two if it's not actually fun. When one of them takes off, I'll remove the boost and sometimes the insightful as there's no need for both on the front page. If I post in a default/popular sub like /s/Conspiracy or /s/Politics it's sure to get noticed, but if I post in another sub it may or may not get any notice or traction at all. And much depends on the time(s) of day it's posted.

Ultimately all it takes is one or two doots and/or comments to push one ahead of the others to gain momentum. If there's no conversation under a second post folks won't visit there. If it's in a default sub the chances are much much much greater it will be noticed. Only the subscribed and /s/All will see it.

I'm just stating how it seems from my perspective and why the numbers don't seem to out of place to me.

What was odd was how his posts were getting so much attention on the regular. I'd assumed people were fans. I am often one to look at select user's content before everything else (you, M7, zyxzevn, Drewski, etc etc etc). Sometimes I even pre-vote/mark it before I've even read it (always good), and on rare occasions I don't catch up to my reading list.

You would be surprised how a lot of the narratives people are exposed to over here are part of the stablisment. The idea is to shatter people's minds so they don't try to rebel as they would under normal circunstances. People's access to technology helps in that too. You should read all of H.G Well's books, all the more "Open Conspiracy" in order to see how patriotism and even conspiracism are used for evil. In the meta-sense, even if you guys disagree with me on the Jesuit thing, people should focus all their effort into starting a rebellion somehow.
