The "Humor" Button as Downvote

Looks to me as though rather than the "amusing" meaning the button is labeled as, people are still using it thinking it's a downvote. Anyone else notice this? Maybe people new to the site?

That's okay. The fun vote only gives half as much karma as the insightful vote so it has the same effect. Insightful will sort higher than fun. But no comment can ever have negative karma.

Thats what I like about this voting system. If someone is going to make a post I disagree with: I'll leave a comment, not a vote

I always vote both Interesting and Funny because it increases engagement on posts.

Me too.

I double vote because I'm lazy and ranking fairly with binary switches takes effort. And the votes don't mean anything, especially when everyone uses them differently. I use them to mark what I've seen.

If someone clicks a laughing emoji thinking it's a downvote I don't know what to tell you but it's dumb.

the funny button is to say that someone is "funny looking" or that they are not circumcized.

the insightful button means that you think they should get circumcized.

I've also seen people say they will upvote humorous on seriously stuff they really like it to push it up to the top of s/all.

So you can't really tell without looking at the comments.

I use the saidit app from the FDroid store.

For me, looking at posts and comments generally just show a score, the higher the score, the higher up in my feed. But if you click into a post, then you can see the the breakouts, XX funny and XX INSIGHTFUL. not sure it will stay like this.

So I've always been under the thought that if you give 3 points, that moves it up higher than just 2, because that's what I've seen. I thought when a post/comment gets no votes, it is generally being down voted because those get moved to the bottom..

Silly not having a down vote. Instead maybe promote the downvote content so they still are visible but keep the down vote since it is a valuable tool to see how people feel. Only having a upvote only says maybe others did not see it.

Depends on the post. If it's serious, then yes. If it's not, then no.
