If you are eating alone and you think you are entitled to get a table all to yourself, then go fuck yourself

The designated area for customers eating alone is the bar area. That is where you sit if you are eating alone. You are not entitled to a table.

And when you sit at the bar, you better tip the full 20% or you are a fucking asshole. Some people think they can get away with only 15%, but in the bar area they still have to take your order, bring you food, bring you drinks, clean up after you, so anything less than 20% is an insult.

I always leave something. Like two quarters or a one-dollar bill. That lets them know I didn't forget and purposely left a very small amount.

You are getting 10% or nothing if service is bad. You aren't worth anymore.

It's not the customer's job to pay your wages. It's your job to make yourself worth your boss paying you a decent wage.

20% is for excellent service. Did you keep my water glass full, remember my hot sauce, etc.?

Chances are, you fucked something up, and in my book that means less than 15%. I say "less than" because the standard was always 15% before butthurt waitstaff got access to the internet and manufactured the 20% figure out of thin air. So although I go along with the 20% guideline, my willingness to do so goes away at your first fuck-up.

I'd challenge you to produce an etiquette book produced before 2005 that mentions any guideline other than 15%.
