Brain fog is a symptom of not having enough real problems in your life.
I used to have it chronically. Bought books about it and all sorts of supplements to try to get rid of it.
Then I got a job where I actually had to do some work and got stressed then it magically disappeared all on it's own.

Baclofen, a muscle relaxer, at high doses (300mg) has been shown to help with pain and alcohol addiction.

As a note Naltrexone can an effective treatment for addiction of any kind, not just opioids. If works by blocking dopamine receptors which means the addicts no longer gets a rush from participating in their addictive behavior: booze, drugs, gambling, video games whatever it is. Over time this can result in an eventual loss of the addiction.
The success rate is quite high though often counselling is also necessary to help deal with any psychological factors. It far exceeds the success rate of any 12-Step program like AA.
